I recommend the books a hundred times over. The movie...well...no. They leave stuff out, it goes by too fast, and you know that movies made from a book are almost always gonna be bad. But if you read the books, I wouldnt start with Eragon. The reason the movie is so bad is because the book is kinda bad. Read the synopsis in Eldest, and that should be enough.
