I mainly just run. I want to get back into lifting weights, but I don't want to pay for a gym membership

They can be quite expensive depending on the place, maybe you can find a few dumbbells ranging from 10kg - 20kg to just for starters? There are also alot of youtube videos with at home workouts.

Aerobics 1 hour, jump rope twenty five minutes, flexibility exercises one hour, run three laps around our block whih is rather large, swim fifteen laps in the pool also rather big, and dance with my fiance for two hours. I'm 5 "2" 103 pounds, and a size two clothing girl and I gain weight easily DX

Nice, what flexibility excersises do you do? I've recently started doing flexibility type excersises on top of my usual routine.

Hold on... you spend 3+ hours a day of dedicated no fun work out just to maintain your appearance. I feel like your extremely diligent but at the same time I feel horrible for you.

A lot of people find the exersise they do enjoyable and fun, I for one find the gym and aerobic exersise enjoyable, just a question of changing the thought of "having" to do it, to "wanting" to do it.

I exercise when I find it useful like walking someplace but wanting to do something thats immediately pointless sounds very dull.

Dull? Or shows someones enthusiasm? trust me, once you build a routine around something it becomes in most cases, an addiction.

@ Xazeon: Cool, weight training is the best.

Jump rope, swimming, and dancing are my hobbies and favorite activities but mostly dancing. Most of my youtube videos are dancing videos I submitted to talent agencies.

Speaking of working out, our school did something really funny once...and by funny I mean horrible. Our football team and waterpolo team have a bit of a rivalry, so one day the football team (me included) traded training schedules with the waterpolo team.

Long story short, we were tired as hell X_X Hopefully the waterpolo team got bruised or something, but damn, that's a workout.

As some people know I work in a hotel, and me and my nights manager are seriously considering getting a step/pedometer to see how far we walk on shift going back and forth doing room serive, security walks, etc, etc. Plus I walk there and back which takes an hour.

My hotel offers me spa membership for a ridiculously low price, so I've started swimming once a week. Combined with two rugby training sessions a week if I can get (plus game on Saturday but it's off season at present), my weights at home which I really need to start picking up again at least once a week, and I'd say I'm pretty darn active.

Don't really want to go overboard on weights as speed and fitness has to be main thing for me over strength.

I have a question. If I add weights while running, I know it makes me faster, but does it burn more calories? It seems like it'd be a harder workout and get me tired faster, but I've heard from a few people that you mightaswell run without weights because your body's doing the same thing.

By weights I mean leg weights. I'm not gonna run while lifting.
