I'm not old enough for college yet, but make sure you balance the amount that you party with the amount that you study.

Heh, I highly doubt I will party that much. I'm the most socially awkward person in my group of friends. Still, I'll most likely be playing video games more than partying. ^^;

I would consider something other than sociology. To be honest, that's one of those, "Ooooh, hey, this sounds interesting I'll get a degree in that" majors.

If you really want a job that requires that, then by all means go for it. Just keep in mind there are an assload of people who study things like sociology, psychology ect.

Socio and psychology aren't easy degrees to get; in fact, next-to-nothing is an easy degree to get. The reason these fields are booming is because the careers associated with these majors are wanting more and more jobs. They are upcoming fields. Can you even comprehend how many different jobs are centralized around having a psychology degree?

People don't get degrees and then decide they don't want a job in that field - at least, most people. I'm assuming that the TC isn't a complete retard and he's pretty certain that he wants a job in the socio field.

Where I live, everyone wants to go into the medical field - literally everyone (except me <3). Does that mean being a doctor is something that is interesting and something people are ready to do? No, not really. Why don't you think about what you are saying before making stupid claims about a major?

You'd be surprised how many people are dissatisfied with their job after going to college and wind up going back to school to try something else. Try not to assume that everyone acts like people you know.

He still wants to get a job in that field right now. If it turns out he doesn't like it, it's his fault.

Well, the reason I want to study sociology is because I want to work with kids mainly. When I was three-years old, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia; however, it wasn't too bad because of all the people that helped me through it at the hospital. I don't want to be a doctor, but one of those people who just talk and play with the kids going through a time like that.

Of course, I do have back up plans, most of which are dream ideas for careers.

Watch your money!

I am going to try to get a job around either Pembroke or the neighboring small town, Lumberton. I hear they have a good hospital chance there. Mainly, the only thing I would spend the most money on would be my costume for next Animazement (I'm gonna be Seto Kaiba and Tails Doll). ^^

If it turns out I don't like it, I better realize it before I leave college and change my major. :P

See, you have a specific thing you want to do, which is great. In that case, go for it! And I must say, you're pursuing a very noble career.

Thank you very much. Still, in case I fail, which I have a tendency to do on most things, I do of course have back-up plans. Unfortunately, most of my back-up plans are dream careers: video game designer, voice actor, actor, author, radio talk-show host, and doctor.
