Kocrow17
A wonderful idea, Frunk. I greatly enjoyed reading the first chapter and look forward to more. It's a history that needs to be known.
Guest PikaPerson01
I know you're like, a mod here or whatever but did you REALLY have to sticky your own fan-fic, give it it's own discussion thread, AND sticky the discussion thread too? I mean, I know you're like 14 or whatever but seriously, just how big is your ego? Secondly, isn't this the reason there's a YCM wiki? So you can organize your history and list of noteworthy posters and important terms there in a neat and organize way? I mean like... come on. *expects bitter tools to neg rep me for this post*
VainZiler
The YCM wiki is virtually dead. No one works on it, nor does it even really get any in depth details as Frunks post. Frunk's ego isn't big, it's huge, think Donald Trump and Gene Simons. That's Frunks ego. But his ego is also with reason, he has experience, and the right to an ego. VainZiler
Exactly why he should have posted it there rather then here. Because it was his decision to post it here, where it will actually get read, instead of at the wiki.

Guest PikaPerson01
... Once again, my problem isn't with him posting a story. He can post a million and one stories, I don't care. My concern is with him stickying it.
Frunk
I don't like having to come back just to defend myself. This isn't a "fan-fiction", it's a recount of the history of this forum. Not one part of it is fictional. Also, it was suggested that I post it here as there really was no alternative. I'll have you know the YCM Wiki isn't virtually dead as it's no longer in existence. When it was still online, a much more basic form of this information was there, but I had no way to retrieve it and did not back it up (not that I care - I was quite happy to write a more broad and in-depth version). You don't believe me? Try finding it! http://wiki.yugiohcardmaker.net, the link to the Wiki, does not work. YCMaker made no announcment of a change in it's location anywhere, it was just simply removed during a server upgrade a while ago. It was seldom used anyway. Thus, without the Wiki to hold it, it needed to be posted somewhere on the forum. As it's a work of literacy, here is it's best home. It was pinned as it a very important work - used to clear up the misconceptions of the forum early forum. Many thought that the absolute start date for this forum was December 24, 2006, but there is a year and a few months worth of history before that. It was not my idea to pin the discussion thread, as I link to it in the other thread anyway. It sounds to me like you didn't bother reading it, thus you don't understand. Mind you, you don't have to read it, but, if you haven't, then I'd suggest against criticising something you do not understand. Also, this has nothing to do with ego. I was one of the only three people who were active there that are also members of this site. The other two, Falling Pizza and YCMaker, were/are busy, unlike me. The story, as I said, is important. Maybe not to you, but that's your opinion. Honestly, it's not your place to comment. On the other hand, if you think what I wrote was egotistical, then I protest, as for being the highest poster and a moderator of the old forum, I don't over-mention myself. And you're right that I could've posted it anywhere, but I asked my peers in the mod team first, and Fan-Fic was decided as the best place. Not that your suggestion will be acted on, but where else would it go? It's not a story. It's not fictional. It's history. It's fact.

My concern is with him stickying it.[/quote'] It's not a fan-fic; it's the history of YCM. So it would be innapropriate to let it drown with all the other old threads. Why do you even have a problem with him stickying it anyway? It really is an important thread.

I don't think what you wrote was egotistical. What I wrote was that it was egotistical to sticky your story, along with this discussion. Why should your story and this discussion hold priority over every other fanfic here? The fact that you quoted one sentence out of my twenty-plus sentence response it worrying. Did I not explain already that this is not a fan-fic? My fellow mods in the mod team suggested to me that it be placed here as it is a literary work. As I said, where else, keeping in mind the absence of the Wiki, should it go? However, this discussion thread was not my idea, not was it my idea to pin it. As a Former Moderator I have no powers nor the ability to view the Mod's Forum any more. Practically, I'm a normal member like yourself now. If you think this topic should be moved or unpinned, then use the "Report Post" utility and tell a moderator who can actually still do something about it to do so. The same goes for the Chronicle itself, however I doubt your report would be acted upon due to how clear-cut the situation is. There aren't any fan-fics that deserve to be pinned as that would imply favouritism. The Chronicle is the one and only exception because it was unanimously decided by the Mod Team that it be placed here as, despite not being a fan-fic, it does have a common trait that it shares with every fan-fic here - it's a literary work. It was pinned due to it's importance and to, less obviously, imply it's exclusiveness from the other threads in this forum, like every other pinned topic on every other half-decently-run forum. Once again, I implore you to redirect all you complaints to someone who can do something about it rather than spam-up this thread.

Umbra
Unstickied. Stickies are reserved for threads of importance; the Chronicle itself remains stickied, as it is an historical document, (sort of) but the discussion thread should not be so. Frunk
the discussion thread should not be so. As has been established. But what do you mean "sort of"? Have you no pride in this forum? Anyway, diolch yn fawr iawn, Charlie.
Umbra
The word "historical" can be implied as "very old", such as the Dead Sea Scrolls can be considered historical documents. Therefore, the "sort of" And sorry, I don't speak Gibberish.
