Having trouble with image uploading in posts

I am having some trouble. In a post I did, I try uploading an image, but it used up 481.5 KB, and no matter what, I can't clear the selection because there appears to be nothing to clear, and I can't upload a new image, even on a separate post. What should I do to fix this?p

Don't use attachments. Either turn on editing mode and use the image code (click the card in the cardmaker if you're using that), or drag and drop the picture onto the reply box.
