estlib
I am new to these forums but i know YCM from a couple years back. I didn't know where exactly i should post this so i posted it here. I have been making my own cards ever since i first saw yu-gi-oh (which was a long time ago) and so, i made my own cards with my ideas. There are 4 generations to my cards (i wont show generation 1 & 2 as i dont have them at hand currenctly): 1st generation - The earliest cards i made were made from watercolor paper. Bent way easier than original cards and were mostly black & white with some color. i remember making about 10-20 cards. Most of the cards were copies seen from the anime. Then there was a break. 2nd generation - This generation was mostly my own ideas and they were a huge improvement and a huge regression (correct grammar here) at the same time. They had more color (even some had backs), they did not bend easy. Their problem is also the improvement. Even though they had color, it was random (pink, red, yellow, purple, black). The cardboard i made them out of was around 1-1.5mm thick which is wayyy too thick for a playing card, the ideas were ludicrously overpowered and so i decided to make another break (this one was about 2 times longer). i made around 100 cards 3rd generation - The third generation is the second most recent generation which ended today. These cards were a major improvement over the 2nd generation: correct or near-as-possible color, sensible attributes, card was not that thick anymore (but still quite thick), box sizes correct (i even made one card with japanese layout) and i even recreated the shiny square at the bottom right (though they are nearly as good as they could be, the cards still have them. There were a few problems aswell. I laminated the cards which made the color kinda *glowing* and smudgy but they look kinda fine. A total of 41 cards made (one in russian with japanese layout, one 3.5 generation card [unlaminated], 2 copies of existing cards and 3 computerized cards [not made with YCM]) 4th generation - The most exact style replica of a yugioh card i have ever achieved by hand. This generation started today. Currently i have made only one card but so far, the color is right (but a little light), the shiny square has been improved, the boxes are better, a font on the title of the card and card type actually looks like from a yugioh card, serial numbers, correct card thickness, card bends like a real one. And here are a few cards from 3rd generation and the one from 4th: I did try Yugioh Card Maker somewhere between 2nd and 3rd generation but i found it unsatisfying and continued making cards by hand. Nu-Mou Knight
Nope. Most of us expect actual card images. These look cool, but I think you'd have more interest if they were cards made with site.
estlib
hmm... What are the fonts people use on their cards?
Nu-Mou Knight
Unless you want to make them with templates from Showcase, you make them in the section labeled "Card Maker" at the top of the forum. Fonts are kept on the site's server.
