Bob the Rainicorn
so here is Wind-Ups {x15} M {x3} Wind-Up Soldier {x3} Wind-Up Juggler {x1} Wind-Up Magician {x2} Wind-Up Nyanko {x3} Oracle of the Sun {x1} Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning {x2} Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer {x15} S {x2} Wind-Up Factory {x3} Mystical Space Typhoon {x2} Instant Fusion {x2} Wonder Wand {x1} Monster Reborn {x1} Heavy Storm {x1} Dark Hole {x3} Pot of Duality {x10} T {x1} Solemn Judgment {x2} Solemn Warning {x2} Overwind {x2} Call of the Haunted {x1} Mirror Force {x1} Torrential Tribute {x1} Trap Dustshoot {x15} E {x2} Musician King {x2} Kamion Wizard {x2} Wind-Up Zenmaister {x2} Number 39: Utopia {x2} Number 61: Volcasaurus {x2} Tiris, Keeper of Genesis {x2} Steelswarm Roach {x1} Vylon Disigma (this could use some work) So I liked the idea of spellcasters, that Kycoo is a lot stronger this format, and Wonder Wand helps boost him up to get over obstacles such as a pumped up Agent of Creation - Venus. Not to mention, Kycoo effectively takes out Mezuki, Spore, Necro Gardna (if Lightsworns are popular), Easy Hyperion summon, Chaos cards, Hopeless Dragons (in respect to Red-Eyes Wyvern, and perhaps Dragon's Mirror), and Miracle Beat. The deck is fun, but I would like to see some improvements, I don't feel that I'm setting enough traps to support my toolbox play style.
BehindTheMask
Drop the Dualities for 2 more Wind Up Magician, and another Factory.
Bob the Rainicorn
Magician, in all honesty, feels really slow. and I would do another factory if it didn't dead draw when you draw more than 2.
BehindTheMask
Magician is another Wonder Wand target, right? have Magician/other wind up on board. Summon the other, activate Wind up effect, special other wind up, play wand, draw two. exceed. In total -4 cards(Magician, 2 other wind ups, wonder wand) +3 cards(Exceed, 2 draws) Total investment? 2 cards(Magician + wonder wand) Net gain? +2. The math is "weird" but lets take a look at it. Although you are losing 4 cards for three, you still get more cards. Although you lose both wind up monsters, their overlaid for the exceed. This fuels Ardeus, and Tiras, which net you cards for materials, so by "losing" your monsters, you still are gaining more advantage. Magician provides you a free material for doing so, so that "2 card investment" is a one card investment. You gain another card(s) if you have Wind up Factory up. Your only real investment to the field is using a normal summon + a spell card, and if you go into Ardeus/Tiras, you are going to net more cards, so its more like this: Investment: 2 cards(Magician, wonder wand) Payout: 2 draws, Ardeus/Tiras and your opponent loses a card(and then another if you attack that turn), (another wind up to hand if you have factory up). So your net profit is 2-4 cards, along side a big body in Ardeus/Tiras.
Brandon Michael Geren
That was a really roundabout, rambling, and shitty way of explaining it.
Bob the Rainicorn
my issue with Magician is that I don't usually have another Wind-Up I could use with it, otherwise I would gladly use it at more than one in the deck. BehindTheMask
That was a really roundabout, rambling, and shitty way of explaining it.
Sorry I was trying to explain my post. My bad, see, here I thought by explaining my logic, and what I thought was something that didn't seem obvious(the calculation of card advantage), I thought I would be helpful. Instead, I was obviously just completely wrong in my logic, and I'm glad that your post clarified my mistakes, and showed why my logic was flawed...oh wait, you're post didn't do any of that. Your post was completely off topic and didn't do anything other than +1 post count.
my issue with Magician is that I don't usually have another Wind-Up I could use with it, otherwise I would gladly use it at more than one in the deck.
I take a different approach to wind ups. I like to play "protect the mage" and get advantage off resolving and reusing Magician. I include D-Prisions in my build, as well as bottomless, to remove opposing threats and provide me another turn to do more stuff.
Bob the Rainicorn
I was going to take an anti-meta approach as well, and if you could help me find room for more traps, I would be happy to go with that idea.
NumberCruncher
Your running Wind-Ups without Birdman?
Bob the Rainicorn
Birdman is a staple in Wind-Ups? I see where you are coming from though, with Arcanite Magician, I just can't swarm fast enough in this build to get Birdman to truly be effective. I might as well use T.G. Striker so I could make Landoise or Barkion (actually, the spell count is high, Landoise sounds really fun).
Ieyasu Tokugawa
Birdman reuses Wind ups.
Bob the Rainicorn
by that reasoning Overwind would be better.
