[M.D.] Persecuted Witch

Max Darkness

Not sure whether this is balanced, broken, or just unusable. A simple pseudo-lockdown effect when your opponent throws something powerful.

EDIT: Have uploaded a second version. See which you prefer:

Effect: When a monster is sent to the Graveyard: Send this card (from your hand or side of the field) to that monster's controller's Graveyard. While this card is in that player's Graveyard: That monster cannot be used.

Version 2:

Effect: This card in the Graveyard cannot be applied for Monster Cards. When a monster is sent to the Graveyard: You can send this card (from your hand or side of the field) to that monster's owner's Graveyard. While this card is in that player's Graveyard: That monster cannot be applied for other cards or card effects.

so it just sidelines a monster, nothing too new

but it's also easy to rid it out of the graveyard, so it balances

9.5/10
It stops your opponent from using it for any cost or Summon; or re-Summoning it, through its own effect or otherwise. They have to use another one of their cards to get rid of the blocker, which is an annoying cost.

Very original and creative, very nice card. Not that good though, would rather just Debunk or something.
This doesn't really fulfil the same role as 'Debunk', since that's a card designed to stop the modern monster staples. This is more in the role of stopping your opponent setting up any combos, or simply slowing them down, by activating when they throw something to the Graveyard to thin their Deck. It can also stop "Stardust" or from your opponent bringing back something you just destroyed. It also has the advantage of not having to be on the field to trigger, which is an advantage given the new ban-list.

Interesting concept, but the card is outclassed by Prohibition.
I can see what you mean ('Prohibition' locks out up to three cards), but given the huge amount of Spell/Trap destruction unleashed by the new ban-list, it seems to be an advantage to have a monster version instead that doesn't have to be on the field.

Yes, but this only affects something that was ALREADY played and MONSTERS only.

Unless it was sent from the Deck or hand, which is a common tactic.

(And Prohibition doesn't stop your opponent from Special Summoning the declared card from the Deck, so it's not perfect)

True, but Prohibition is still a little more versatile.

Although, this is Chaos fooder...

I think it and this would ultimately end up being used in different Decks, this in more monster-heavy builds.

I might change that to prevent your opponent from using it for a Summon while in the Graveyard.

Actually, Prohibition reads "When you activate this card, declare 1 card name. Cards with that name and their effects cannot be used. Cards on the field before this card was activated are not affected (including face-down cards)."....

So, wouldn't the first stop the card being Special Summoned since the term "being used" means that any thing can't be used, meaning set, summoning, or even placing it on the field? I'd think so, but oh well....

But, anyhow, this card IMO is actually a little underpowered as like other's said......Its good, but Prohibition has it beat, I'm sorry, but IMO, you should bump its power up.....

oh well, good card....

Special Summoning from the Deck goes through the loophole in YGO that says that technically, neither player knows what a face-down card is. 'Gladiator Beasts' Special Summon from the Deck, so the monsters they Special Summon are face-down until they hit the field, at which point it is too late for 'Prohibition' to stop them, since they are then on the field.

I need to redo its lockdown effect. Perhaps rendering the other monster inapplicable to your opponent's cards while this effect is active.

@Max: Apparently I'm blind, wow, how'd that happen? lol.....Well, anyhow, the 2nd version is better, and I think is great and goes good with the lockdown deck., .........So gladiators can swoop right by prohibition, nice to know, thanks..... By that means, should setting a card get passed it? Even though it claims card's on the field are not affected, presuming that the card entails cards off the field cannot be used, (Meaning Special, Normal, Set)

Thanks for rating.

Not exactly. If 'Bestiari' bypasses 'Prohibition', and gets to the field, it still can't be used. So it's effect cannot be activated, it cannot attack, cannot switch battle position or be used for a Summon. And Setting a card from your hand doesn't bypass it, since the card is face-up in your hand.

@Max, maybe you should continue with this card and build a set based around it, it'd be nice to have an decent lockdown deck for once......

I still need to iron out all the things around 'unapplication' effects, so that might be a while coming.
