Judgment Solemn

 

Ignoring the Conditions. Pay half of your Life Points, then pay 1000 Life Points. Negate an activation of a Spell / Trap Card / Normal Summon / Flip Summon / Special Summon and destroy the Spell Card, Trap Card, or Summoned monster. After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.

Warning Solemn

 

Ignoring the Conditions. When a monster would be Summoned, OR when a Spell Card, Trap Card or Effect Monster's effect is activated that includes an effect that Special Summons a monster(s): Pay 3000 Life Points; negate the Summon OR activation, and destroy that card. After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.

Select and activate 1 of these effects:

Counter Trap Cards with “Ignoring the Conditions.”, “After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.”, and “This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.” are the forth variety of Trap Cards and are the only Spell Speed 4 cards in the game. This means that the only thing that can be used against them are other Counter Trap Cards with “Ignoring the Conditions.”, “After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.”, and “This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.”. Primarily, they deal with preventing the activation of the effects of other cards, although there are noteworthy exceptions, such as “Judgment Solemn”, “Warning Solemn”, and “Judgment Solemn and Warning Solemn”.

 

Counter Trap Cards with “Ignoring the Conditions.”, “After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.”, and “This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.” can be activated in the Damage Step even if their effects do not alter ATK/DEF. At least a few Counter Trap Cards with “Ignoring the Conditions.”, “After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.”, and “This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.” are vital in most Decks—without the ability to prevent an opponent's card effect from activating, there is little guarantee of being able to prevail against an opponent, especially if the player has no idea what the opponent's strategy is or what cards they may be playing. Many of the more powerful Counter Trap Cards with “Ignoring the Conditions.”, “After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.”, and “This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.” have a cost or downside to using them so attempting to rely on a very large number of them may result in greatly diminished resources for the player to use.

 

Spell Speed 4 cards can be used against Spell Speed 1, Spell Speed 2, Spell Speed 3, and other Spell Speed 4 cards. Spell Speed 4 cards can only be countered with other Spell Speed 4 cards.

 

The only cards that are Spell Speed 4 are Counter Trap Cards with “Ignoring the Conditions.”, “After activation, banish this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.”, and “This card's activation and effect cannot be negated by any other card.”.
