Come forth my mighty Dragon... Penguin?

Yes. This is what you get when I get bored and in the same time in a CardMaking mood.

It's 'support' for the somewhat recent 'Penguin' archetype. Just like the archetype, don't expect much of it.

This card is also treated as a "Penguin" monster. Face-down "Penguin" monsters cannot be destroyed. You can pay 600 Life Points; Special Summon 1 "Penguin" monster from your Graveyard or Banished Zone in face-down Defense Position. During the turn this card is flipped face-up: Increase this card's ATK by 1300.

If it's also treated as a "Penguin" monster, doesn't that mean when it's face-down it can't be destroyed? And once the monster's flipped, is it destroyed during that battle, or would it be the next battle that would destroy it? I'm not really sure because it looks somewhat useless.

Only if you control 2 of them, at least that was the idea. I'm not totaly shure if it also works with battles, but I planned on that it saves it the battle it was face-down.

now that's a first, Dragons used for penguin support

"You can pay 600 Life Points; Special Summon 1 "Penguin" monster from your Graveyard or Banished Zone in face-down Defense Position." <---for this effect, you left out 1 thing

you forgot to say this can only be used once per turn, not as many times as you feel like

otherwise this is WAY too easy field swarming and all that

also for the 1300 atk gain, I'm unsure if you want to make that permanent

2700 atk is plenty for lv7 already

Yes, but do remember a couple of things: 1. For this card to swarm, you need 'Penguins'. And guess what the 'Penguin'archtype is? Bad. So this is mcuh needed support. Even with the unlimited SUmmoning.

2. 4000 ATK may sound like a lot, but do remember it needs to be Flip Summoned first. This (most likely) means that it needs to survive at least 1 turn face-down with just 1200 DEF.

IMo, these 2 reasons seem like enough ballancing to give it such effects.

first off; the part about face-down "Penguin" monsters cannot be destroyed needs to be written different, something like; When a card effect is activated that would destroy a face-down "Penguin" monster: you can reveal it; it's not destroyed. When a face-down "Penguin" monster is targetted for an attack, it cannot be destroyed by battle.

Another thing is the unlimited Penguin swarm. If you don't make it once or twice per turn and this card would be released, it would end up banned as soon as possible.

Mhh, thanks for the suggestion for that part, it was a tad troublesome.

There is quite a lot wrong with that: 1. Since when do you think Penguins are that abusable? 2. Even if you manage to abuse them for a tad, you still need them to either be banished or in your Grave. This is not unlimited. 3. If you where thinking about abusing them for Xyz's/Synchro's you're once again wrong, as they need to be face-up for that. And this card Sp.Summons it face-down.

Considering Konami took like 3 years to ban Goyo, I'd say this card would probebly never be banned. It's just not enough of a threat.

I think that the ATK gain shouldn't be permanent. It can already Special Summon another Mighty Pendragon in face-down DEF position and it will be protected from being destroyed. This way you will have a monster with 4000 ATK on your side of the field without an actual cost.

You will be able to Summon this guy by the effect of "The Great Emperor Penguin" very easily.

This card would definitely help penguins but I think you should either make the ATK gain not permanent or make the ATK gain less.

It can Sp.Summon FROM THE GRAVEYARD or banished pile. Is it that hard to read that restriction.
You'll only be able to pull that off with some-kind of wierd Dragon/Penguin Deck. And though that seems like a fun Deck, it isn't likely to work.

1st part of eff means: It is only treated as a "Penguin" monster while being face-up on the field. Hence, it cannot be SSed by 'TGEP' eff. And if you meant by tributing the Penguins it Summoned. That would only work by using your NS. And seeing as there aren't that many cards to SS 'TGEP', it means you'll need to wait 1 turn, or use 'Double Summon' to gain another NS.
