Spell Magician - LOOK FOR THIS CARD - You will like this!

Recommended Posts

looks like you put a picture right in front of Spellbinding Circle

and it's not cancelled, you mean negated

well it certainly protects the spells better, a little like the opposite of Spell Canceller

and unlike that one which is too weak for lv5, this one can actually hold its own ground a little bit, so it's good there

oh please, then what do you call Blowback Dragon?

weak.

The only worthwhile Level 6 monsters are the Monarchs simply because their effects are explosive and instant. Anything that doesn't have a high ATK (as people have pointed out this doesn't) and needs Tributes should be burnt really. It's just the speed of the game.

Besides, the effect is so useless anyway. There are hardly any cards that can negate Spells anyway, and any that can aren't really used in the slightest. The so-called 'market' in this area is redundant.

I frown upon anything Dragon type or with Dragon in it's name, so I call it a disgrace.
In all seriousness, meh. 2300 ATK with a chance to destroy one card per turn, not so bad imo.
I try to think about the ATK and DEF when judging a card, although I haven't really been doing that as of late, and 1200 DEF is herp.
All in all, I don't really have a valid response to BB Dragon. xD

*shrugs* whatever

with Spell Magician 1700 def isn't exactly crap for lv6 def you know
[/quote]

Unfortunately, the DEF is completely irrelevant. If you're going to put anything with 1800 DEF or less in Defense Position, it'll be run over next turn. Or it'll be face-down and not have an effect anyway.

Uhh...I'm sorry? Solemn Judgement/Warning? Stardust Dragon? Naturia Beast/Exterio? I'm just naming these off the top of my head, but I think there are plenty that can negate the activation of a Spell card that are used regularly.

1. Why would you Tribute 1 monster for a monster that will get run over next turn in the hope that in the 10 seconds this stays alive that your opponent will use a Limited, Semi-Limited or vaguely specific Synchro in order to negate your Limited spell which will probably be Monster Reborn, Dark Hole or Heavy Storm.

2. Stardust can run over this anyway so he's irrelevant. So can Exterio. And Naturia Beast could suicide into it if you wanted.

Then use any stalling spells of your choice (since, if this card is on the field, your spells can't go bye bye). Swords and Level Limit Area B immediately come to mind, along with any Equip Spells that debuff your opponent (Darkworld Shackles) AND equip spells to make him more powerful. And while traps, Gravity Bind, Wall of Revealing Light, Spellbinding Circle are nice for slowing down. Also, you probably shouldn't assume that people only use staple spells; Monster Reborn, Dark Hole and Heavy Storm are obviously not the only spells in existence. On top of everything, if this were used in a Spell Counter deck as I could imagine it, Defender the Magical Knight could easily aid in keeping him out. Plus, there's always Cost Down and Double Summon if you really want to get him out fast.

I must disagree. This card has uses.

1. Defender the Magical Knight is horrible everywhere. Best protection for Spellcasters has always been Gagagashield and Secret Village.
2. Stall is illegal in large tournaments and really boring in casual play.
3. But why would anyone waste a card on negating anything that isn't a staple spell ._.
4. All of those Traps and Spells you mentioned are bad:

Swords: Uhhh, I could easily just go BLS, DAD, Warning, Judgment, BTH, JD, Zenmaines, Messier, Laggia, Heavy Storm or MST and trololol in your face. Whatever you do, it'll still die ._.
Level Limit - Area B: Hmm. Every single Xyz would like to lol in your face right now. There's a reason why this card is actually bad now. Even though it's on the banlist, it shouldn't.
Traps: Hmm. yeah, above argument.

Also, consider:

1. The only reason you would want them to not negate your spells is because you're running a fast combo deck that relies on those spells.

So:

Why in a fast deck would you use so much stall just to protect this?

...damn, you got me. I keep forgetting XYZ are immune to Level Limit and Gravity Bind. Also, wasn't aware of Secret Village, and wait stalling is illegal in large tournaments!? O.O I've never actually...been to a tournament...so I really wouldn't know.
But you're right. A fast deck wouldn't even need stall, because well, it's a fast deck. It's polar opposites.
In an attempt to make this card more worthwhile as a LV. 6 (just realized it can be used for Magi Magi Magician Girl), edit the text to say "Your spell cards cannot be destroyed or negated by opponent's spell, trap or monster effect". Otherwise, probably should bump the attack down below 2k and make it Lv. 4, then leave it as is from there (correcting OCG if you please)
