"Balloon" Archetype

I am going to start posting cards from the "Balloon" archetype I have made here. The "Balloon"s focus on summoning lots of weak monsters which can be tributed to activate various effects of spells, traps, or monsters (Think of Tokens and "Tokenfeastivel" and such like that.) while occasionally being able to synchro a stronger monster. The theme will be Balloons and early aviation techniques such as kites, and a smaller amount of the cards (such as the main three balloon cards, H Balloon, HE Balloon, and O Balloon) will make reference to chemical gasses. (Hydrogen, Helium, and Oxygen, respectively.)

I will post more cards later, but here are two examples of what I am talking about.

HE balloon is meh for not having any effects while on the field. Therefore, it's only useful for quick synchro/xyz food or something

for Combustion Rection though, the O effect is meh

1000 LP isn't really much of a gain, and therefore isn't really practical

the 1000 burn on the other hand is much better

HE effect is meh, but at least it's a good substitute for Harpy's Feather Duster, so it's good

Just so you know you mean He (like Au) the second letter is always in lower-case.

He balloon has a useful effect in regards to easy synchro/xyz food. Put this in a deck with The Tricky or Cyber Dragon and you practically have an instant stardust or scrap or w/e. Otherwise it isn't overly useful unless you add a burn to it for when it is easily killed.

Your trap seems alright, but as Tigerstar said we haven't seen the rest yet.

I'd say so far so good though.

All of these cards are way too powerful. HE Balloon allows easy Rank 3s, since it isn't restricted at all (which is bad and not very good card design) A recommendable restriction would be that it cannot be Special Summoned if there are multiples of that card on the field.
Combustion Reaction is broken only because of the first effect. If you made it more like Token support cards and made the effects add up to the number of "Balloon" monsters destroyed, it wouldn't be nearly as broken. And in that case, lower the burn/Life Point gain somewhat.

Yeah, I noticed that, but unfortunately the card maker automatically puts all names into capital letters. :(

I like the theme, but it seems like you might have to add a few more monsters 5 stars and up to make it more powerful. If their is a field card, how about something like "Super Happy Ballon Parade"? It could let you summon a token when a ballon monster is destroyed, or something like that.

Sounds like a good idea. I am going to fine tune my "Super Balloon Zeppelin" card (btw; what do you guys think? Synchro or just an effect monster? or a fusion? not sure...) but the field sounds kewl; try posting it. Should look kewl.

Well just wanted to say that (like I said in the intro message) Tokens and Token like abilities are exactly what I am trying to go for here. ie; Clown Kid's (another monster I will make) ability; When this card is Flip Summoned, Special Summon 2 "Balloon Tokens" To you or your opponents side of the field. I enjoy the comments guys, keep 'em comin!

Okay.... I would make the attack more I'd put it at about 2500, but 1500 also works. It's effect however is OPed without a restriction... since it's a blimp maybe make it so fire or wind monsters can still attack it/be attacked by it normally.

Also I'd make it a machine, but that's just an aesthetic choice that I would make, it really doesn't matter.

Good point about effect; I originally had his ATK 2500, but felt effect too powerful. Fire and Wind working is a pretty good restriction, but in the end I'll probably just make it a different effect.

Machine.... nice idea. Balloons are thunder cuz nothing else really fits, but a big ol zeppelin WOULD be a machine.
