Cael
As (Hopefully) everyone knows, video game images used to be made of 2d Pixel Art called Sprites. Not everyone may agree with this, but pixelated images are a form of art. What I was wondering, was whether or not sprite art would be acceptable when making cards, as long as the entire set was made of sprites, and the images were consistent. Like, for example, Final Fantasy Tactics. The game has highly posable sprites, so pretty good cards could be made, in my opinion.
uzumakinaruto93
so 1 card for the attack spirites and 1 for walking and stuff like that? if thats what u mean i don't think it would exactly boost the rating on your cards
Cael
That's not what I mean at all. I just mean that you would easily be able to create the image you want for spell and trap cards, and have unique looking monsters without all that much of a hassle. When I break it down though, all I want to actually know is whether or not people would find the use of sprites acceptable.
God GAK
Um... yeah, but if you made them that way, the pics would be unrealistic for the card
OmegaWave
I like the idea....but the stretched pixels would mess up the image.
Cael
GAK: In what way? I don't really get what you mean. Omegawave: The images wouldn't be stretched that much. Depending on the image, only 2x the natural image, at the most. Hopefully that won't leave too much room. Backgrounds would be a high priority. Kizzi
You could, but you wouldn't get high ratings for realism, as no existing Yugioh card has used sprites or sprite-style images for the picture. Cards should have a fairly real picture, though without very small details, in my opinion. Hard to explain. :(
Static
Go for it. If you want to, then by all means you should do it.
Alordzynix
It woudn't look good. See the penguin in my signature? (The one that just doesn't seem to rule YCM XD) I pixeld it but it woudn't be good for a card. Even if I woud ad a background big enoug so it won't stretch. Basherbelding
i actually like sprite art, but with a card it would need a background. just a opinion
