I am so happy. New York has had the worst last few years *I should know I used to live there*. To see this type of news makes me happy. Happy for the people of New York who are slowly recovering from a long ten years, happy for Wall Street which has had very good results in the past five weeks, happy for the housing market which is doing slightly better, happy for the soldiers leaving Iraq just in time for Christmas, happy for the New Year soon to come, happy for the jobs opening up in the United States over the past two months, happy for the people who can spend a good Christmas with their family.

Discuss times you were happy for something other than yourself.

A very vague but nonetheless good answer ^^

I am a very Nationalist citizen. Yet, I have a deep understanding for other countries with their own system, who are proud of their own. It is what they know. What they think is right. What I need to respect. Even if it is for something I should be hating due to a strong love for how the USA goes.

You can love the United States of America. However that doesn't mean you ave to like their government.

People shouldnot be hating the United States for being what it is right now. People should be standing up against the people who make it what it is.

Yes. I am a strong Republican, and I think that Democrats should not be in government higher than secretary.

But I do not want to turn this into a political debate like before.
I want either Romney, Paul, or Gingrich. It might finally be Paul's year. That guys just gets an ounce of respect from me.

Orly?

OT: It's nice to see that great cities like New York are doing well. It's a city with great history, great people, great culture and seeing it basically go down a slow, winding slope was pretty hard to watch. I'm happy for my overseas relatives there.

The problem I have with Ron Paul is his idea that the Constitution is flawless which it isn't. He wants to back out of the United Nations and isolate us and he also wants us out of NATO. He hates the Civil Rights Act of 1965 claiming it was against the constituiton. He is pro-life and wants the Gold Standard back which could effectively bankrupt Europe.

Romney changes his opinions to whatever fits the peoples ideas at the moment. And Gingrich lobbied for Fannie and Freddie Mac and wants to bring back child labor.

Okay. I am a little new to the political race. And we are screwed any way we go. I am NOT going Bachmann. Or Democrat.

The reason I like Obama is because he ignores the rhetoric of the Republican party and fights to fix our country regardless of their hatred of him. He has had to deal with the burden Bush left on this country and it was very hard to do I will bet. He lowered the cost of Medicare to Senior Citizens and the Housing Market, Wall Street, and economy in general have been doing better these past two months because of his policies imho.

I'm happy for New York, I've never been there, but I assume it's a nice place to visit.

What I'm really happy about is the troops being pulled out of Iraq, I watched Tribute to the Troops about a week ago and it made me feel more concerned about our men and women fighting overseas.

Why is the "ta" in Britain darker than the other white letters? :?

OT: Lot's of time. Like that one time, with that guy, and that chick, when s*** went down, but it got better.

Good times, good times.

Serious OT: Does it count if I never feel happy for myself?

Political Undertone: I honestly could not give a crap about whether the Democrats or Republicans or Socialists or Whigs or Greens are in power. If your Candidate can fix s***, do eet. If not, jeetee-efoh.

I don't like Ron Paul, but NATO and the UN are just means of exerting the will of a few countries upon the world and calling it an act of good will for mankind. The UN just needs a reworking, but I really wouldn't care much about leaving NATO. He does essentially advocate for isolationism until its absolutely needed as far as foreign conflict goes, but this isn't exactly ridiculous in comparison to a global police force, though I will admit that some dictators could/should be toppled and people oftentimes don't have the power to do it on their own. He was right about the Civil Rights Act being unconstitutional; things like affirmative action simply reverse racial bias and contradict supposed equality. A better CRA would have simply eliminated segregative laws under the principle of equality - perhaps then the racial gap wouldn't be as defined as it still is to this day. Being pro-life shouldn't be considered an innate evil, and he has already said he's leaving that issue up to states.

Romney was okay here in Massachusetts, and the healthcare system he put in place(or the administration, rather) is one of the best, but it looks like he was just playing along with the whims of the people. Which should be good, except when even his supposed deeply held beliefs can give way to the current trends you're just left with an opportunist. Gingrich should be a joke, but Republicans seem to love a good joke. For eight years, typically.

I'm happy for the civilians that won't have to have jackass soldiers murdering them.
