An idea very similar to ones suck as gladiator beasts, but different. So basically the deck revolves around summoning two monsters at once. Combo these cards to get massive Synchros, Xyz, or other high level monsters on the field easily. Each one has the generic "Archetypical" effect and then has a secondary one. Such as destroying an opponents monster, discarding cards etc. I really have no idea how I got the name. I searched up synonyms for speed (Based off the double summoning effect.) got to light waves being super fast, then continued on to reflect and refraction. I took the latter of the two names. I will take requests on ideas for future cards if you wish to leave one in your comments. As a last remark I will take all criticism negative or positive. General Ideas: When I started this set I had a general idea about the cards generic abilities but nothing was certain. So flipping through some archives and I found this guy. Little, weak but still cool looking. So Basically I made him just to outline the archetype and then give it an immunity to spell and traps. As i'm not up to date with the current Meta, it could be a little op'ed but I think it's ATK and DEF are weak enough to make up for the effect. This card cannot be used as Xyz or synchro material except for monsters with "Refract" in their name. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if a "Refract monster you control is destroyed, pick a random card in your opponents hand and send it to the graveyard. Main Idea: Sorry for the boring effect. The first three cards will be boring essentially as I have made them before any comments got to me. Don't worry the newer cards will be better. As expected just a basic common monster. Your cards destroyed = 1 card gone from your opponents hand. This card cannot be used as Xyz or synchro material except for monsters with "Refract" in their name. This card is not affected by your spell or trap cards except for cards that have "Refract" in their name. Once per turn select one face down spell or trap your opponent controls and destroy it. Main Idea: Another basic card. Summon and start smashing your opponents spell and traps. This card cannot be used as Xyz or synchro material except for monsters with "Refract" in their name. This card is not affected by your spell or trap cards except for cards that have "Refract" in their name. If this card was summoned by the effect of a "Refract" monster this card gains 500 ATK and you can activate this effect, you can select a monster on your opponents side of the field. Switch the ATK and DEF of that monster. Add the difference to this monsters ATK. [/spoiler] [spoiler= 020 - Refract Knight - Ethereal Rider] [img]http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/5274/154334u.jpg[/img] Lore: 1 tuner monster + 1 non tuner "Refract" monster When this card is successfully summoned you can special summon one "Refract" monster from your hand to the field in face down defensce position. This card gains ATK equal to the number of "Refract" monsters used to summon this X 1300. Once per turn when a "Refract" monster is summoned to your side of the field, you can negate its first effect and destroy a facedown monster your opponent controls instead. Main Idea: Well the key to the perfection of refract monsters is to avoid self milling while getting powerful monsters onto the field. Refract Knight falls into this category of powerful Synchros. Basically it gets high attack if you use two "Refract" monsters to summon it. Then proceeds to stop a bit of your self-milling and destroy face down monsters your opponent controls. The generic swarm archetype is rather boring to see at times, and, unfortunately, this falls right into it. Even he didn't really post something constructive, so it's time I waste my time on rating this constructively and telling you how terribly underpowered these are overall. Let's start with Spirit Conga. I can't find a SINGLE reason to run him, given its effect is virtually the same as the "generic", except with the lowest stats you can be offered. Maybe you forgot something with it, but as of now I think that card will be toilet paper if released. Hobgoblin Fleet seems rather interesting compared to the last one. If these guys have their own recruiter - oh, wait, they don't have one. A definite step upward, but it doesn't really help to disrupt your opponent's hand when you're losing. Not to mention, any real even mildly intelligent opponent will go attack this guy over the other Refraction. Orc Guerilla basically has no use except when you're using another Refraction to summon it, given its stats are terribly low. It's a +1 every turn, but I wouldn't expect it to stay on the field a single turn. Mecha Arachnid can get its ATK to high levels at times (Leviathan Dragon's prolly its best pray), but you shouldn't rely upon it that much. It doesn't have an advantage effect, and you should never be Normal Summoning him. Etheral Rider is sorta pointless given so far there's no Refraction Tuner and you didn't make it 1 or more. It can only have 1300 ATK so far. Besides, turning every Refraction into a Ryko-killer doesn't really make the matter better. Not to mention, all Refractions have different levels. Despite all these major flaws in your set, this archetype's idea still sounds rather amusing. It can definitely be done better. Since I'm generally the nicer person I'd just give you the right advice. -Make them all the same level - preferrably 4 -Give them effs that activate when SS-ed by another Refraction's eff, preferrably generating advantage (Destroy 1 monster, Destroy 1 S/T, SS another Refraction from your hand, Draw 1 card, Revive 1 Refraction, etc.) -Make good Rank 4s that work specifically for them. Good means Evolzar-esque good. And they'd be the set I'll be grading "Amazingly baws". To be honest, as I'm writing this I'm becoming more and more urged to copy this idea and make it myself.
