~Shadow of Alpha~
So this is my first card post in about 1 year, so I'm a little bit rusty at card making. So I'd love some ratings and areas of improvement ^^
As long as this card remains face-up on the field, neither player can increase the ATK of monsters on the field. Both players can only attack with 1 monster during each Battle Phase. Neither player can activate Spell or Trap Cards during the Battle Phase.
I saw this pic, and it made me think of how fights and battles are irl. And so that's kinda what this card is based on, just the pure strength of 1 Monster Card VS the pure strength of another. 1 on 1. (Question: I didn't bother doing the research, but is "As long as this card remains face-up on the field" not needed in Field Spell Cards because it's just taken for granted?)
ragnarok1945
interesting effect you got there considering how many atk changing effect cards there are, this is really good the 2nd effect reminds me a little bit of The Dark Door, not sure if that's where you got it from 3rd effect is just siphoned off Ancient Gears, somewhat meh

I guess the idea of this card was to sum up the different ways of preventing interference in a battle. And since both those effects do so, I guess they were the first things to pop into my mind C:
ragnarok1945
yeah that Ancient Gear effect is popular, so many people want it
~Shadow of Alpha~
Yeah, but the Ancient Gears prevent only your opponent from usings Spell or Trap cards in battle, this card prevents both players from using them which could be a big problem in some cases. ragnarok1945
yeah that's the good side of it, which is why maybe you shouldn't keep it on the field TOO long

ragnarok1945
you know that's what makes me wonder, how long you think this card SHOULD last on the field given its drawback to you as well?
~Shadow of Alpha~
That's a good question, but I'm afraid I can't really give a solid answer. Personally I would wait to activate it (unless completely necessary) until I have like a Mystical Space Typhoon available so that I can dispose of it whenever I need to. Because the more you increase your Life Points, the fewer Tokens you'll get and the less defense you'll have. So the only thing the card will do is fill up 1 of your Spell/Trap card zones. But you can't really pin point how long it should be on the field. You would keep it on the field for as long as you need to draw the right cards. ^^
Ryan Weise
I do have an actual card kind of like this. It's called "Rivalry of Warlords". It makes it so that you can only have one type of face-up monster at a time, which ties in with the 'only one monster can attack per turn.'
I'm familiar with the card, but it's very different from this one imo ^^ Because many people create decks that only have 1 type, and cards to strengthen that type. So it wouldn't necessarily mean that there would be a one-on-one battle but I see what you mean (:

Because LP gain will cause less tokens, which will cause LP loss from attacks!
ragnarok1945
exactly, so at the end I'm not really sure how it'll balance out
~Shadow of Alpha~
But we can agree that it can go either way. I can be helpful, but only for so long.
ragnarok1945
right me, if it stays on the field for more than like 5 turns, it'll become a liability problem
dcardmaker
I can see Malefics spamming this card like crazy. It takes all of their disadvantages away by giving the same attack limitation to the opponent, and gives them spell/trap immunity. If you get out truth dragon and a field barrier with this on the field, your opponent is pretty much screwed.
