I'd add another Montage just to be safe... but only 13 monsters (12 Normal Monsters) with Heart of the Underdog?
Thank you for your criticism. It's greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure another Montage is necessary. The main reason I have it included is that some of the time, I get stuck with a disproportionate amount of normal monsters in my hand, and have little to do with them. Since I run so few normal monsters, it's more often the case that I'm stuck needing one in my Graveyard or hand (particularly the Graveyard) than that I have too many in my hand. Frankly, I'm not even certain Montage is necessary, since I so infrequently get surpluses of normal monsters.

The reason I run so few monsters is because I usually only need 1 or 2 in my hand, (so I can dump them with trade-in and common charity, or special summon them with ancient rules) and 1 or 2 in my Graveyard. You do have a point; with only 12 normal monsters, 3 Hearts of the Underdogs may not be necessary. But it is an incredible draw engine when it works (especially when there's 2 or 3 out at once) and usually I'm able to pull in at least one draw from each one. Would you recommend replacing one with a different card, and if so, which one?

I'd add Spiral Serpent at 3 maybe 2. Hand Destruction can help too with filling your grave but I don't recommend it.

I actually really like the idea of Hand Destruction, because it's a quick-play spell that can work in conjunction with Heart of the Underdog, (and doesn't miss the timing like common charity) and it dumps normal monsters in the grave. I'm not sure Spiral Serpent is necessary. I think I have a good balance of Normal Monsters, but I think I will dump Montage Dragon.

-1 Foolish Burial
-1 Montage Dragon
+1 Hand Destruction
+1 Gogiga Gagagigo

i would recommend a few low level monsters for support and some more trap cards that prevent your opponent from attacking e.g. Sakuretsu Armor or another Mirror Force. Other than that it is a pretty good deck. I rate it 9/10

LOL

OT:
-1 Montage
-1 Foolish
-1 Lightning Vortex
-1 Mirror Force
+1 BLS
+3 Skill Drain

Iffy on Ancient Rules, how's it working for you? (If it isn't, rather go for Dualities.)

My main problem with that is then there's no mechanism for getting normals in the graveyard (with the exception of trade-in), which is the basis of the whole deck. That, and Envoy of the Beginning would likely eliminate any graveyard I already had.

Ancient Rules is an absolute necessity. Also, I don't think Duality is a good idea, since it stops special summoning.

No-one's gonna dump 3 cards from their hand.

It's a -3.
Increase the draw amount and you won't have to worry about that now will you? Heart of the Underdog, Hand Destruction, and Dark World Dealings, as well as Pot of Duality increase your draw power with Heart Of the Underdog's help.

When does Dark World Dealings increase the amount of cards in your hand? Or Duality, for that matter.

Only thing that helps here is Heart of the Underdog. And that's bad if you're only using it for Montage.
With dark world dealings you have the chance of drawing another monster to activate Underdog.

Doesn't have to be your draw phase to activate.
It still misses timing :S

And, yes, it does:
