That's the whole point. It stops plays that could bite you in the butt, or plusses off of recklessness.

And yes, if they're going to summon a lot that turn they might be going for an OTK. Maxx also gives you a chance to draw into Veiler or Gorz/Trag to stop that OTK.

I once started Inzektor combo, guy dropped Maxx C. If he had dropped Veiler or Trag on me, he'd get another chance at kicking my butt with his 10+ cards.

Sadly I still OTK'd him, but that's the whole point.

Maxx "C", though originally against it, I've found to be an awesome, awesome card that pretty much works in anything, and can net you amazing pluses, as has been said.

I generally only run 2 outside of Insect-based builds, and keep a third in the side if necessary. Since I prefer the 2 Veiler/2 Maxx "C" line-up.
