Remember back when the format was young? [Wild Tornado]

Recommended Posts

Well, so do I! It was before I returned to the holy YCM forum, and spent my days acting like a retard on yugiohforums... (just like 95% of the people on the internet.)
This is an article I wrote on Wild Tornado back then... and I discovered a friend of mine decided to tech 2 in his version of Machina Hatstown, I decided I should re-post it here...

The lamest tard of the forum has hit his keyboard again! In this short “article”, I want to talk about one of my new favourite cards, which is Wild Tornado.

Select 1 face-up card in the Spell & Trap Card Zones and destroy it. The controller of the destroyed card can then Set 1 Spell or Trap Card from their hand. If this Set card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, select and destroy 1 face-up card on the field.
Basically, this card gives you a grand amount of 2 effects:
*I stumbled upon this card while I was looking for extra Spell and Trap destruction. I used to be a great fan of Fairy Wind, especially since last format was full of Continuous and Field Spells. Now that Call of the Haunted is back, this card’s first effect will be handier than ever, despite Six Sam and Gravekeeper having become a lot weaker. If this were the card’s only effect, MST would definitely pull its balls off everyday, but wait! There’s more!
*Destroy now and get this card’s second effect for free! That’s right, when this card gets MST’d, Heavy Storm’d, Breaker’d or whatever **** they throw at you, you’ll get to destroy a face-up card on the field! If it’s a face-up backline card you want to destroy, you probably won’t wait for Wild Tornado to get torn apart, but destroying Monsters is epic shizzle. Just think of how usefull this will be in the upcoming meta, where our good friends, the Lightlords find their place in several decks again! They go Lyla? BOOM da Lyla! They go Celestia? BOOM da Celestia. They go Judgment Dragon? Give the darn dragon a bullet between the eyes.

DAFAQ?

Q: Yo, Mr. Atlus. Are you really implying I should throw this card into my Deck?
A: Well, of course not, little boy. However, there are quite a few Decks in which this card feels at home. One of them is Scrap. Just look at how hard your Scrap Dragon will shamelessly take a dump on whatever your opponent has! Also, Trident Dragion OTK Decks smile at the thought of destroying an extra card, plus gaining an extra attack!
.
Q: Jeepers! That does sound quite supercalifragizzle! Are there other cards that will make my day due to abusing this amazing piece of cardboard?
A: Well, obviously! You can trigger it with your own Double Cyclone or, if you’re a die-hard fan of Japanese teenagers with crazy hair, search two of them out of your Deck with Yugi’s Magical Hats! Baffle your opponents by destroying two cards at once, a trick that could even swaffle Stardust Dragon if you manage to pull it off! You can combine it with other cards that get triggered by getting destroyed, such as Geartown, Dark Coffin and Widespread Dud, if you’re interested in a Deck that blows up backlines every two turns.
.
Q: Was that it? It’s way shorter than I had expected it to-
A: That’s what she said. Thanks for reading.
