The Return of Actus

And I've finally decided to post this. It's been a while since I last created this card, but I managed to improve it and gave it a storyline. Now if you have no idea off what I'm talking about, well this is partially a remake of some old cards I made (I think they where like 3 years old). They basicly portraited the story of a bound king, looking for revenge. However I expanded the story with 2 additional futures for the Spellbound King Actus.

I stopped the story into spoilers, for people who are only interested in the cards. Each respective card is put below the respective spoiler.

This set contains a Vanilla.
Once,in a distant past, there was a kingdom. Though not an utopia, it was peacefull enough, and only a few lived in poverty. This kingdom was ruled by a Just man, king Actus. Born as a prince, he has everything he ever wanted. As he was growing up, he loved to hear stories about brave knights protecting kingdoms and saving princesses from fiendish monsters and he decided to become just like those knights. And he indeed became a good king and the people loved him for his rightiousness. He eventually married a pesant girl he was in love with and they became a loving couple.
However, one dark day the word came of malicious creatures who invaded his kingdom and where killing of his fellow countrymen. This he could not and would not tollerate. So he send out an attack force to strike down the creatures. He himself wanted to join them, his wife eventually convinced him that he should go. The attack force would never return. Even thier bodies where no longer on earth. Actus was furious with himself that he wasn't there to help those poor soldiers, but his wife comforted him that he couldn't have done anything about it. Actus, however, was not satisfied with this and started to build an even larger army. So that he could strike down the foul beast forever. And so he did.
On the night before the great battle he visited his wife one last time before he went out to war. This visit however, would have a different ending then he expected. As he arrived to the throneroom, where his wife was on that moment, he suddenly felt an incredible pain in his back as he was flung onto his throne. He wanted to stand up, but was unable to. When he looked up to the one that assaulted him, he saw it was his wife. The only one he felt he could trust more then anyone else. When he asked her what's the meaning of this all. She smiled and said: "We can't have you running around and save all those people, can't we." It sounded as she was talking to someone else, but noone was to be found. She then raised her hand and a black bolt struck Actus on his chest. He now was frozen, he could not move. Not even his mouth or eyes.
An hour passes. And the generals became worried that thier king wasn't there to lead them, and they went back to the castle. Only to find thier king sitting on his throne. When they asked why he wasn't there yet, he did not awnser. He only looked in front of him at something noone else was able to see. Suddenly a scream was heard from the courtyard and the generals ran to where the sound came. What they found was a bloodbath. Creatures of undevined shapes and sizes where litterally tearing people in halve and devouring the pieces. Just before the wanted to slay the vile monsters, they where pierced in the back by something. Most of the generals where dead on the spot, 1 however fell down to the floor. As he looked up to his murderer, he saw the Queen. Or it wasn't the Queen, it was something what looked like the queen, as this 'creature' had a grey skin and claws. With the last of his energy he said: "What are you?" And she only smiled in responce.

The Kingdom fell right before Actus', still living, eyes and everything but the throneroom was demolished by the 'creatures'. They where horrible, they slowly tore the few survivors in pieces right in front of him. Of his 'wife' he heard nothing. She probebly went to the next kingdom to destroy that.

Years pass and the creatures eventually grew tired of the kingdom and left him all by himself. As a side effect of the spell he remained alive even as his flesh rotted away, or maybe it was actually her intention so he would never be released of his missory.

Here he remained, trapped forever.

Once a king of a country threatened by an unspeakable evil. On the evening before the big battle, he was tricked by the only one he trusted and bound onto his throne for eternity. Unable to do anything else, he could only watch as his empire was overtook by the evil. Now he waits, until he can released from his prison and once again bring peace to his country.
Hundreds of years have passed since that tragic day and Actus started to plot his revenge on his so-called 'wife' and those creatures. The ideas where born out of sadness, but quickly grew into hatred. And before he knew it, the ideas became malicious and included ways of tortering all those who hurt him. Giving them faits much worse then death.
All this evil, eventually sapped out of him and took form as a man, or more a creature that resembled a man.

At first it was nothing more then a soulless shell. But eventually it evolved and gained a mind of its own. Being born out of pure hatred and dark thoughts. It could not leave the Darkness. Eventually it gained so much strenght that it could even use the Darkness around it to it's own will. And one day, it went to it's 'fathers' throne. There it spoke in a slow whispering tone to Actus: "I... Can give... You live again..." Not needing to hear it's fathers responce, as it already knew it it continued: "If I do so... Take me with you..." It said. And it returned to the shadows again. Not until a week later did it return to Actus' throne. And it spoke again, this time in a faster and louder tone: "I have prepared the ritual. The only thing I need is... You." Then it turned into shadows and entered Actus' emty chest. Actus didn't care what would happen to him, he only wanted revenge to hunt down those who hurt him. Flesh began to grow on him again, his armour started to change and became more spiked.
He then stood up. Thinking only of 1 thing, revenge on those 'creatures' and his 'wife'. Not knowing he became the one thing he hated the most.
Darkness.

Hundreds of years pass, but Actus continues to try and work his way out of this curse. Not thinking of vengeance, but more the will to stop the horror from reaching the kingdoms elsewhere. Trying and trying to force himself out of this state worse then death, the fire in his soul continued to build up. However how much he tried, he didn't manage to escape from his eternal prison.
Until suddenly there was a spark, it only appeared shortly and then it fanished again. But this change gave Actus even more hope that he will succeed.

After trying many more times, the spark became larger and larger. Until it finally reach a state where it could sustain itself. It first apeared as a small fly, but seen grew to a size of a sparrow and eventually it became the size of an eagle. Flying majesticly through the sky on it's burning wings. This create amazed Actus with its will to live and in his mind he started speaking to it. Calling it the Fire from Inside. And the Fire seemed to respond evertime Actus thought of its name, as if it could read his mind. Actus continued to 'speak' to the Fire and one day. It responded. "Honourable Father, I know a way we can save the others." The Fire said to Actus's suprise. "Th.. That is wonderfull." Actus replied in his mind. "But how do you plan on doing so?" "It requires us to merge once again, then our combined Spirit will set you free once again." The Fire replied. "That is fine by me, as long as we can save others." Actus replied. With that the Fire dived straight into Actus' chest. And his armour started to smolder, and radiates a fiery glow. His armour transformed and became more solid.
He then stood up, from his throne, and walked away towards the horizon, following the path of destruction the 'creatures' left in thier path. Hoping to catch up with them and stop them from destroying another city.

Hundreds of years pass, and after years of struggling to get free from this wratched curse, Actus gave up. He stopped to have the will to live. And with that he lost the will to stop his 'wife' and the 'creatures' that destroyed his kingdom. He even lost his hatred towards those fiends. His soul and hart froze up. And as he could not die, he just sat there, staring into the empty hall.

During an especially harsh winter, the harshest one Actus has ever seen. He let the cold sink into his remains as the throne room froze down, just like his heart. Covering the place in snow. During slight rise in temperature, the frost dripped from Actus' frozen remains and fell into a small pile of snow that had remained. And as Spring came, all the snow melted, except for that small puddle. During a hot summer's day, it seemed to have disapeared. Blaiming the magic residue on his cursed remains for the longlivety of the pile of snow, he continued to stare, as he could not stop. The next winter was also harsh, not as harsh as the last one, but feirce nonetheless. And the snow piled up again. Suddenly, one pile of snow started moving. Like a frozen turtle it slowly moved around getting bigger as it moved through the other snowmounts. Untill it reached a humanoid shape. With 'eyes' if you can call it that, as empty as Actus' soul, It stared at Actus. And it slowly moved towards him, and touched Actus' frozen remains. Then it flowed into the armour and around the remains of Actus, and Actus let it. As he couldn't care less what would happen to him.
Actus' armour became covored with Ice like plates and his body stood up. And still wanders the land to this day, soulless and restless.

good to see you're still in this business,
Lexadin

for Released Lord, that Wrath Token is almost TOO powerful

Spirited Lord is better, though I'm unsure if you need a max atk limit via that effect, Yes it's only temporary and most monsters now don't have too much def, but still
Well I designed the Tokens so that they can only be used for Attacking, this it would be a waste if they wheren't good at what they're doing. However, if more people agree with you. I gues I can lower the Token's ATK a tad more.

I don't see why I would need an ATK limit, considering it's effect only kicks in when the monster it battles has higher ATK then it. And most high ATKers don't have that much DEF and vise versa. So it would only give it a small edge unless it's against "F.G.D." that is.
