Marijuana has no affiliation with cancer. Look it up. I mean, theoretically, you can get anything from anything, but marijuana has no real connection with cancer. CMRenji
Meh, debatable. Not to glorify OP's inb4, but it really is a topic where one side can't trump the other. I mean, for one, it has no affiliation with lung cancer, whereas tobacco does. On the other hand, it apparently puts you at risk for mental disorders. Plus, a lot of research is flawed and stretched to prove a point. As for me, I smoke weed every once and awhile, but stay away from tobacco entirely. I mean, I use marijuana in extreme moderation and try not to use it to cope for anything. Just when I'm bored and not sitting on YCM, to be entirely honest. Then again, I am apparently at moderate-high risk for various mental disorders, so what would I know? The point is, it's very difficult to just say "it's good," or "it's bad."
I personally think it should be legalized, even if I plan to never smoke it. There are people who just want to use it sparingly, like you. Moderation is key with these kind of things.
oh don't worry, you'll say otherwise when you're suffering from cancer
Rag, marijuana is useful in curing cancer. ._. I use it maybe six times a year. Sometimes more, but not very often. I will not die from that. However, the kids I see around my highschool that smoke every weekend (sometimes even more), are the ones that are stupid about it.

Marisa Kirisame-ze
Cigs as a drug is really well, idiotic, in my opinion. It only calms you down and for what? Finances going down the drain because you spend so much money on packs? Second hand smoke causing others to suffer? Your luuuuuungs getting the lovely present of cancer? Seems like such a waste of time, really. It's bothersome. And sure, I think it's actually really hot in movies and such. Some people radiate this attractiveness when holding a cig, but I could only enjoy that in film and entertainment.

~ P O L A R I S ~
Cigarettes make you smarter. Seriously, nicotine significantly augments your short-term memory. I'm not saying they don't have their drawbacks or even that their benefits outweigh their drawbacks, but it's certainly a point in their favor. This is Mikhail Tal, who copiously chain-smoked his way to becoming the eighth official World Chess Champion, a title he got in 1960. To put that in perspective, this title goes back to 1886 and the current title-holder is the fifteenth. It's nigh-impossible to pull off, you basically have put in tens of thousands of hours on top of being a super-genius.
I can't imagine him without a cigarette in his mouth - he'd smoke five packs a game! He never needed a lighter - he'd finish one, and light the next one from it.
Granted, these games would generally take about 3 or 4 hours (the players had clocks that would limit the amount of time they could spend thinking for the game so that they couldn't stall forever. If a player's clock runs out they lose unless they can't possibly be checkmated in which case it's a draw), but 5 packs in 3 or 4 hours is still utterly ridiculous. That being said, you should smoke cigarettes.
ragnarok1945
if you know the dangers with nicotine, you'd say otherwise seriously, if I take all the nicotine in just one cigarette into a needle and then inject it into a person, the result would be instant death
~ P O L A R I S ~
But cigarettes don't inject their nicotine content into you and as such they won't instantly kill you upon your smoking them. What they will do is give you heightened mind powers. Sure you might compromise your health to whatever extent it might happen to be compromised, but realizing your dreams should be of greater priority than longevity. Take risks. What's great health if you can't do anything with it because you're too paralyzed with fear of potential consequences?
