Hmm. Lets see if I can help you straighten this out.
First off, it's 'TIE' not 'Tie.' It stands for 'Twin Ion Engine.' Now for a run-down on the units.

A standard TIE unit does not have shields or a hyperdrive. The first is because they are generally expendable units. The second is because, as Obi-Wan mentioned, their mothership is usually nearby. Later on, around the events of Empire Strikes Back when the Defender of the Empire expansion pack for TIE Fighter takes place, there's a renegade Imperial admiral who adds shields to his TIE Fighters. Because TIEs are small, that makes them a lot harder to shoot down. Imperial lasers are usually longer-ranged than Rebel or New Republic ones, although they are weaker. To demonstrate this, I spent almost half an hour taking down a Mon Cal Cruiser in a TIE Fighter just by whittling away at its shields from the end of my own range.

A TIE Fighter is equipped with two laser canons. They are medium speed, all-purpose fighters. Four hits from an X-Wing usually does in a TIE.
A TIE Bomber is equipped with two laser canons. The second pod is usually for an extra-large torpedo, missile, or bomb load-out. Some Bombers were modified with sensor packages, making them scouts. TIE Bombers are slow, and are not usually used for anything other than missions where lots of ordinance is required. They can be seen in Empire Strikes Back, bombing asteroids in search of the Millennium Falcon.
A TIE Interceptor is equipped with four laser canons. They are fast units, used as scouts, and wherever a little extra speed is required.
An Assault Gunboat is equipped with two laser canons and two ion canons. They are the Empire's first units equipped with shield generators and hyperdrives. They can be equipped for bombing runs, as well as for capturing ships using their ion canons. They are faster than TIE Bombers, but slower than TIE Fighters. Pilots should be aware that having shields does not make them invulnerable, as sustained fire can destroy a Gunboat easily.
A TIE Advanced/Avenger is equipped with four laser canons, shield generators, and hyperdrives. They are based on Darth Vader's own TIE unit. Their high speed and small size make them the hardest target to hit, and on top of that they can take the hits. The TIE Avenger is the Empire's answer to the A-Wing's high speed, even though the A-Wing has faster acceleration. TIE Avengers can be equipped with a tractor beam (which inhibits other units' movements), however the two solar panels are insufficient to supply power to the tractor beam and the lasers for long. This is my favourite unit, of the ones the Empire possesses.
A TIE Defender answers the demand for more power with a third solar panel. It is equipped with three laser canons, three ion canons, a shield generator, a hyperdrive, and a tractor beam. Although like the TIE Avenger it possesses high speed, the outward-facing solar panels and the third panel makes it a larger target. The TIE Defender is a favourite of many pilots because it provides more power than any other unit.
A Missileboat is armed with one laser canon and four missile launchers. It is further equipped with a shield generator, a hyperdrive, and afterburners. As the name implies, the Missileboat's main task is bombing. The afterburners consume power that would normally go to the weapons system, however most of the energy weapon space was given over to the missile launchers. The Missileboat thus has the advantages of speed and bombing capacity over its older sibling, the Gunboat, as well as the Rebellion's Y-Wing and B-Wing.

So my question is this: why did you make the TIE Bomber the most powerful unit thusfar? That slot should belong to the TIE Defender.

I don't remember it making a big difference, but maybe that's because it was such a slow unit that you couldn't get out of the way fast enough anyway. Lets say the lack of speed outweighs any reinforcement they might have put into the hull. Not that a reinforced hull made much of a difference without shields either. No, I remember taking a few more hits in the TIE Avenger and TIE Defender than in the TIE Bomber -- but without shields you were pretty screwed anyway. The Y-Wing always had the same problem. I hated flying Y-Wing missions, because the shields didn't make the difference: Y-Wings are massive targets.

Wait, what's ATK got to do with armour? Are you thinking it can ram other starfighters, because it can't. You hit something and you're gone, in a first-gen TIE. You only have a hope of surviving a collision in one of the later ones, with shields. And unless I forget again, I don't remember TIEs having ejection systems. Ever.

Hey the Bomber can survive a hell of a longer compared to the Fighter and Interceptor

I updated some of the card and changed the turbo laser completely. Also added in some new cards please let me know what you think. In response to the question of why I gave the Bomber more attack than the defender the reason was I wanted its ability to seem like a bombing run which other than just destroying face down defense cards I think it does. And the TIE Defender, tho equipped with strong attack weapons, was largely used in the defense of other ships. Tho, I may not be holding true to all of the actual specs of the ships I am trying to convey the overall goals of the ships.

And here I thought the TIE Defender was an all-round space-superiority fighter. That's the way I used it, anyway.
I've never seen a TIE Bomber survive that long, but then I'd fly a normal TIE Fighter before a TIE Bomber. Even if I had to dock with a tug or shuttle to resupply mid-mission.

Please change the Star Destroyer to 'Imperial-class Star Destroyer,' and 'Executor' to 'Super Star Destroyer Executor.' I know it's longer, but it's also accurate to the nomenclature. The Empire also had the older Victory-class Star Destroyers, Imperial II-class Star Destroyers, Interdictor Cruisers, Carack-class Cruisers, Corellian Corvettes, Nebulon-B Frigates, and Nebulon B2 Frigates. You probably don't want to include the troop transports, Lambda-class shuttles or Assault Shuttles.

You mean Vader's Super Star Destroyer? It's already there. Looks like you're mixing from two different eras, which could be strange. You'd have to replace all your TIE-series fighters with Vulture Droids: TIE's haven't been invented yet. And if you're going to the era where you have a TIE Defender, there's no particular reason to use droids.

Now this fleet needs brains. See if you can find a picture of Thrawn or Gilad Pelleon (unsure of spelling). Baron Fel was also a very smart cookie, and an excellent TIE Fighter pilot.

The ironic thing is that in the movies the stormtroopers are almost always poor shots, yet in the Clone Wars and in the corresponding Republic/Imperial Commando novels the clone troopers are exceedingly good shots.

Will you be making any cards for the Mandolorians?

I think the difference between Vader's TIE Prototype and the TIE Advanced was that while Vader's must have had shields, they were not all that advanced (although they did help him take a couple hits without blowing up). The TIE Advanced is also the first TIE to be equipped with a hyperdrive. Until then, the innovation that made them smaller had not been completed (the TIE Advanced prototype was introduced in Star Wars: TIE Fighter). I am also uncertain, but the picture almost seems to imply Vader's fighter only had two lasers, where the TIE Advanced has four, like the TIE Interceptor.

According to the Star Wars wikipedia, The Advanced x1 is about 40 MGLT slower, it does has shields but they are unspecified where the Avenger is rated for 100 SBD. The Advanced x1's hull is a reinforced durasteel alloy, where the Avenger has a Titanium hull alloy rated for 20 RU. They have the same powerplant, The laser canons are the same, but as I said the Advanced x1 has two, where the Avenger has four. The Advanced x1 has a cluster missile launcher, whatever that is. The Avenger is equipped with the standard two launchers, maximum capacity of 4 concussion missiles each.

Vader's TIE Advanced x1 apparently took one cockpit and the wings from the TIE Bomber, making a lighter and faster craft.

Stats for the TIE Bomber, since they are of interest: The titanium alloy hull has quadanium steel armour, all rated for 50 RU. The engine puts out 60 MGLT in space, 850 km/h in atmosphere. The lasers are, of course, older. It does not have shields (unless upgraded) or a hyperdrive.

The TIE Bomber came first, of course. It's one of the unshielded vanilla TIE variants. The TIE Defender got developed after the TIE Avenger, completely eclipsing both the Advanced x1 and the Avenger itself. The TIE Defender has a whole lot more power to offer its pilot, both in what it generates and in its weapons. The TIE Avenger was hardly deployed, compared to the TIE Defender, which saw widespread use, but was also captured and used by other forces (mostly because of Grand Admiral Zaarin's betrayal of the Empire).

Of course you realize I'm going to have to make my own Star Wars cards now. If I did fightercraft I was going to do it based on Wing Commander. They have better weapons there -- but I found out because of this that the lasers in Star Wars often get upgraded, so they're not laser-level powerful anymore. In any case, you'll see I'll do this differently from drkrize. I'll divide the cards into two posts: one for the Galactic Empire and the Imperial Remnant, and he other for the New Republic and Galactic Alliance.

I do have it in mind to do two versions of the TIE Bomber -- one will be armed with space bombs, and the other will get a more standard loadout of either advanced proton torpedoes or advanced concussion missiles. You'll get a significant shock, though, if you think the TIE Bomber is even the Empire's final word on bombing platforms: It's called the Missile Boat.

Anyway, I'm almost done gathering pictures. Next I'll start making the cards. I'm trying for pictures without black backgrounds, and that is an added challenge given that most of these are starfighters: they operate in space, to paraphrase Chris Pine's Kirk.

I thought I mentioned it before, but just in case:The Missile Boat uses a frame similar to the Assault Gunboat -- and is different from it in practically every other way. The Missile Boat has a single laser canon, because most of its armaments consist of its four missile launchers. Each launcher can contain up to 20 projectiles, for a total load-out of eighty. Two of the launchers are dedicated to concussion missiles or advanced concussion missiles. The other two can be loaded with anything. Together with its higher speed and the afterburner system (very unusual for a Star Wars fighter) the Missile Boat has sufficient speed to take on renegade TIE Defenders, and enough missiles for capital ships and their fighter compliments. Missile Boats are also armed with the tractor beam weapon, allowing them to pin down even the fastest, most maneuverable of opponents long enough to get a strong missile lock. Also, it has a shield generator and hyperdrive. This makes the Missile Boat a Space Superiority Fighter as much as it does a bomber.

Making it a card will be tricky. Lets see how the rest of the cards come out too. I'm going to take size and speed into account for both ATK and DEF, and use the Counter system to show pilots' experience. Then I'll have a set of pilots to enhance fighter performance, as equip cards. The problem with that is there are not very many known Imperial pilots, whereas most of them are now with the Alliance.
