tl;dr Invisible Children, as well as arresting Kony, are rumoured to be basically 'stealth evangelising' people, using the charity as a vehicle to target high school students and stuff.

Another incredibly shady thing the IC does. Oh boy.

I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with "stealth evangelizing," it doesn't sound too different from what a lot of Christian organizations do- they hold events that aren't necessarily "Jesus focused" (like bowling night or something), and use that as an opportunity to talk to people about faith. The part that concerns me is that they're being linked with extremist fundamentalists.

Fve bucks says that in the next few days Cronus will bust in here and yell about why religion is stupid because it says "God" in the topic.[/quote]

I would be surprised if he didn't. :<

Where the bloody hell did that come from?! O:

On a more topic related note, the only thing I hate more than people who try to shove their beliefs down someone's throat is people who try to manipulate someone into believing what they believe. <_<

Jason Russell recently had what could only be described as a mental breakdown from Invisible Children, seen defacing cars and masturbating in public.

le true story.

Also, I'm pretty sure the rest of the charity is benign. It's just his weird shady, and ultimately really unlikely, intents.

Both are a lot more rare than most people think.

Yet they all seem to find me. .-.

See, I think what you're confusing, is the difference between "shoving XYZ belief down one's throat" and "being obnoxious." In very few instances can someone actually "force" something on someone. Usually it's just people who are very persistent. Their intentions are good, however. (usually)

Someone who is, say, an evangelist isn't 'forcing' beliefs, per say. They're just suggesting stuff. In an annoying manner.

If you know someone who's manipulating your beliefs, they're obviously doing it really badly.

Pretty much all evangelism stuff I've been a part of is we look for someone who doesn't look busy and just talk about our religions.
