Lore: 3 level 4 machine-type monsters.

3 level 4 machine-type monsters.
While this card is on the field, all effect damage is reduced to 0. During either player's turn, you can detach 1 Xyz material activate one of the following effects: * Special summon 1 level 4 machine-type monster from your hand, deck or graveyard with it's effects negated. * When the ATK of a monster is increased or decreased, you can inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between its current ATK and original ATK, then this card gains ATK equal to the amount of damage inflicted. * Negate the effect of a spell, trap or monster effect which would remove this card from the field and destroy it.

The card doesn't seem overpowered. The thing is that the summoning restrictions do seem a little too much, but the effect somewhat equals it out.

This portion of the lore seems to be the most "overpowered" aspect of the effect.

It's pretty versatile, though the summoning requirements makes it very difficult to use, but nevertheless, the card would probably be splashable in many different decks. Pretty nice card overall.

Okay, so let me explain why no one would run this card in a way that becomes Word Count 1165 on Microsoft Word 2011 because I seriously have nothing better to do.

First of all, there's the problem of Extra Deck space. Even in a deck that can go for only Rank 4s, the space is already very crammed up. Let's look at a list of the good generic Rank 4s.

=The Best 2x Level 4 Xyz=
-Daigusto Emeral
-Gem-Knight Pearl
-Lavalval Chain
-Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
-Number 39: Utopia

=2x Level 4 Xyz you should be running if you have space=
-Number 50: Black Corn
-Steelswarm Roach
-Kachi Kochi Dragon
-Evigishki Merrowgeist
-CNo. 39: Utopia Ray

=3x Level 4 Xyz you should be running if you have space=
-Verz Ouroboros
-Number 16: Shock Master
-Vylon Disigma

Now, most good decks that can spam Rank 4s are prone to being also able to summon the non-Generic Rank 4s such as:
-Blade Armor Ninja (HEROes, etc.)
-Evolzar Laggia (DinoRabbit, Evols, etc.)
-Evolzar Dolkka (Same as above)
-Geargiganto X (Geargias, Machina Gadgets, etc.)
-Stellar Beehive (Stellars)
-Stellar Omega (Stellars, Lightsworns, etc.)
-Verz Bahamut (Verz)
-Verz Ophion (Verz, VerzRabbit, DinoVerz)
-Verz Nightmare (Verz, Inzektors, etc.)
In the cases with Blade Armor Ninja, the Evolzar Twins, Geargiganto X, and Verz Bahamut and Ophion, the decks that run it should run 2 or more copies of it. Meaning, good decks revolving around Rank 4s can’t afford any more space (as a result, Merrowgeist, Utopia Ray, and Kachi Kochi are often taken out. Also, most Rank 4 decks run only Ouroboros or Shock Master in the 3x4 slot).

Up to here I’ve explained why it’s hard to find any more Rank 4 slots in the Extra, but it’s all upon the assumption the deck doesn’t run any monsters except Level 4s. And that rarely happens.

Most decks run Tour Guide, meaning Leviair, Leviathan Dragon, and Zenmaines are also run in them. If the deck runs Effect Veiler, a Catastor could help for absolute emergencies, too. The Extra Deck space is crammed beyond imagination.

No time to read all that? Well, let’s cram everything written above in a single sentence.

tl;dr Most Extra Decks can’t afford running any more Rank 4s.

Now that I proved that, it’s easy to say that if you’re going to make a Rank 4, it has to be a good one for it to be used. It has to be better than the already listed, already-existing ones.

Add: Consistency is a giant issue with the Extra Deck, and that’s why most decks don’t run much “3x Level 4” Xyz (I think it’s just Crystal Beasts that can consistently spam the heavy Rank 4s without losing much advantage). Thus, I rarely make heavy Xyz. It’s extremely hard to make a balanced one.

With both of these in mind, let’s take a look at this card.

The summoning conditions are “4x Level 4 Monsters”, meaning it’s heavier than any printed Rank 4 (Number 91: Thunderspark Dragon is so far manga-only, and besides, no one will ever use it even if it’s printed). There’s a giant problem with this.

In order to make summoning this a valid move, you have to summon these monsters in the same turn. Why? Because otherwise, it’d be that you left several monsters of the same level on your last turn and didn’t perform a Xyz Summon. At least, in my sphere of mind, that’s a playing miss. Maestroke pretty much defies all the protests of “What if your opponent used a card that kills a single monster”. (This is another reason for my aforementioned “People don’t run many Xyz that require 3 materials” argument.)

So, if a “4x Level 4” Xyz is to be used, that’s only in a deck that can get out 4 Level 4 monsters in the same turn. How many are there?

Only one. Offering Gadgets.

Sadly, Offering Gadgets are currently dead due to the semi-limiting of Ultimate Offering. So if you’re going to make a 4x Level 4 Xyz, it should have an eff that becomes their savior. Something worth the inconsistency of the deck, if you get what I mean.

This doesn’t do that.

This card has relatively low stats for its summoning conditions – it’s lower than the 2400 line. But stats don’t matter if it has a good eff.

Let’s look at them. One is a walking Barrel Behind the Door. Another is a Machu-Mach. The last one is a Gachi Gachi Gantetsu on steroids.

The problem with this is that the only effect you’ll ever use effectively is the last one. This card isn’t a Trap Card, so it doesn’t act as an ambush unless you’re an anime character and can hide all your effs from the opponent until you activate it. The first 2 effs can be better off as a restriction eff saying “Your opponent stops using Burn or ATK-manipulation cards, unless it kills this card in the process”. The problem is, the only burn cards used in this format are Volcasaurus and Black Corn, and the only ATK-manipulation cards are Hornet and Gullho. Zektcalibur is a staple in TCG Inzektors, too.

The good news is that while Volcasaurus and Hornet can try to kill this thing, it can’t because of the last effect. That pretty much means this has the best immunity to Volcasaurus, but it doesn’t against Hornet. Which is better – 1 immunity to destruction, or 500 points of damage? Unless your opponent used too much Solemns and has very low Life Points, it doesn’t make Bugs stop.

STILL. This is bad because of two reasons.

One. As aforementioned only Offering Gadgets will run this, but Offering Gadgets are NOT a Graveyard-manipulation deck. The milling, which is normally a good thing, is a negative aspect in that deck. Horray for anti-synergy.

Two. Offering Gadgets is an OTK deck from heart. Who’d summon this over all the killing machines like Shock Master?

Again, my review got long, so another summary.

tl;dr This card is anti-synergy with the only good deck it could be summoned in, which means this card can be used in absolutely nothing.

Okay, so I’m sorta surprised at myself that I spent all this time on reviewing a single card while I could have been hatching eggs on Pokemon or something, but IDK. My argument is clear: This card needs improvement.

You should go take a look at Verz Ouroboros. That thing is similar to this in how it’s a very heavy Rank 4, and it too has multiple effects. In Ouroboros’s case, all three generate advantage in one way or another, and it’s a very versatile card. I was honestly surprised at how good card design it was, and it was rather unbelievable it was the Verz counterpart of one of the most broken Synchros to ever exist.

Anyhow, I hope I helped you realize that (i) this card is bad, and (ii) I seriously am bored to death.

Edited the card:

Changed the requirements from any 4 level 4 monsters to 3 level 4 monsters, but they have to be machine-type monsters.

Has 3000 ATK instead of 2400, so it can take down some common cards in the meta.

Changed the original first effect from one you activate to a continuous effect, similar to Life Stream Dragon. Meaning it does not burn with that effect.

Made it support level 4 Machine monsters (Gadgets, XWXYZ Union monsters, etc.) with it's new first effect.
