Warrior/Barbaros Deck

Recommended Posts

This deck is focused on tribute summoning monsters with game changing effects, such as beast king barbaros, and dark simorgh. I use marauding captains to summon other tribute fodder and to create a lock until i draw barbaros and end the game. this deck has had relatively good results, i havnt kept track of the number of wins and losses, but im pretty sure ive won more than ive lost. Well, here it is:

Monsters x20
Beast King Barbaros x2
Dark Simorgh x1
Chaos Sorcerer x1
Cyber Dragon x2
Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon x2
Marauding Captain x3
Daybreaker x2
Field-Commander Rahz x1
Trident Warrior x2
Nimble Momonga x3
Thundar King Rai-Oh

Spells x15
Card Destruction x1
Black Hole x1
Double Summon x2
Hand Destruction x1
Heavy Storm x1
Lightning Vortex x1
Magical Mallet x1
Monster Reborn x1
Monster Reincarnation x2
MST x2
Reinforcement of the Army x1
The Warrior Returning Alive x1

Traps x9
Bottomless Trap Hole x1
Call of the Haunted x2
Dark Bribe x2
Mirror Force x1
Sakuretsu Armor x1
Ultimate Offering x2

So give me some advice, maybe some other high level tribute monsters? Cool, thanks =)

Is the purpose of this deck is because of Barbaro's 2nd destruction eff? If not specifically, Skill Drain can easily get our Barbaros at a 3000 beatstick. There are many other options for getting out monsters to summon it, such as Dandylion.

Personally I recommend taking out Horus and its friends since this deck is Barbaros specialized and Horus is only a dead draw. I suggest you make a separate deck involving it instead.

As for Spell and Trap choice, Monster Reincarnation, Card of Destruction, Magical Mallet, and Hand Destruction can be taken out and replace it with 3 copies of Pot of Duality. Double Summon isn't needed either. So you can add other handy protective Spells like Creature Swap, Book of Moon, and an extra MST. Dark Bribe is not good and should be replaced with 2 Solemn Warnings and 1 Solemn Judgment. Mirror Force is optional but if you're a pro, you can play without it.

In all I generally I think this deck wouldn't compete with other even Tier 2 decks, but I'm not recommending on monsters since it is original. Just try some things out and experiment, while trying to find more consistent and searchable material.

Horus is not a Warrior type monster and can lead into dead draws when you have nothing to tribute from. If you're willing to deal with your opponent's spell and traps, then Solemn Warnings and the Solemn Judgments are a must, as well as MSTs.

As for monsters, try finding more consistent warriors than support for current Warriors. Summoner Monk is good if you want to get out monsters easier. You can use it with Sacred Crane to get out draws as well. Marauding Captain works as well.
