When a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated: Tribute 1 "Hieratic" monster; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

Idk if just worded poorly, but can you use this to JUST negate an effect? Without tributing, but just so they waste cost?

And is it worth using in the deck?

No you cannot just use the negation effect.

It's actually worded quite perfectly. It enforces the left to right reading that people seem to miss. A lot of people would normally think that Divine Wrath can't negate Zenmaine's second effect because it wouldn't be able to destroy it. The wording here shows that you can negate even if you can't destroy, but you can't destroy if you can't negate.

One of PSCT's finer moments imo.

Idk about usage in heiros though
