Both you and your opponent must select one FIRE Attribute or Pyro Class monster. Banish all other cards on the field and in both player's Hands, Decks and Graveyards. Xi-3
I'd say that's a bit powerful for a trap. I mean, it gets rid of every card except for 1 FIRE-type for both players, so whoever wins in battle will end up winning the whole duel no matter what else there was -- because everything else has been removed from the game. Unless a monster's effect activated when it's been banished. Because you just never know. Can you imagine one that says 'You win the duel when this card is banished?' Just as an example: that would be really OP'd.
RBY
I completely agree with it being overpowered, and I think Last Turn was made forbidden because of a similar effect. However, I was mainly trying to make the effect true to what an Agni Kai was in the show and focussing less on playability. Did I do well in that department? Xi-3
If you want a 'duel' in the classic sense of it being just between two people, then all you have to do is say 'Negate the activation of all cards' effects for X turns. Each player chooses 1 FIRE-type they control. Only these monsters can attack as long as this card is on the field. Neither player can draw, summon, or set any other cards as long as this card is on the field.' Something like that (mind you, the effect negation means the card's not getting destroyed either, unless there's a Speed Spell or Trap there somewhere to activate on the same turn). I have similar cards in my New Ala Alba Set: 'Overload Confrontation' and 'Fist Against Fist.' Any thoughts on them?
RBY
Thanks for the advice. Both 'Overload Confrontation' and 'Fist Against Fist' look good and seem like they are based around a duel with no outside interference. How about this: You can only activate this card when both you and your opponent control at least one FIRE-type monster. Each player selects one FIRE-type monster to battle the opponent's selected monster. All other cards on the Field are Banished until the End Phase (neither player has to reveal any face-down cards). The player whose monster was Destroyed during the battle pays 1000 Life Points in addition to damage calculation. If both or neither monster was Destroyed, neither player pays Life Points. Xi-3
Ah, a turn limit works well, in my opinion. It means the duel can resume as normal afterward. It reminds me of playing War, actually. I find that funny, but also quite fitting.
