RBY
This is the DEEP set, which I have been working on for a while. The first card in this set was "Great Serpent Varun - God of the Oceans" and here is where I originally posted this card: http://forum.yugiohc...-of-the-oceans/ The Set is mainly there to help out (by summoning or protecting) or take advantage of (through sacrificing) fish/water-attribute monsters with their effects. They also all benefit from Umi being on the field and cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects when Umi is active. There is also some attempt at having them support Sea-Serpents(DEEP-Plesiosaur & DEEP-Angler specifically) by making them easier to summon or searching them out. I think ideally they would be in either a Coelocanth deck or a deck with Daedalus Deck.
Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by Tributing three WATER Attribute monsters you control while "Umi" is on the field. If "Umi" is removed from the field, Banish this card. If this card was Banished by its own effect, return it to the field if "Umi" is activated again. You may activate one of the following effects during your Main Phase: -Special Summon one Fish Token (Fish/WATER/Atk: 0 Def: 0) to your side of the field. -You may Tribute three Fish-type monsters you control to destroy all face-up Monsters, Spells, Traps, or face-down cards your opponent controls. -You may reduce the ATK and DEF of all FIRE Attribute and Pyro-Type monsters to 0 until the End Phase.
Monsters:
Lore: As long as "Umi" remains face-up on the field, this card cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. 7swords
cool set but it should be under completed sets and it needs more spells and traps. overall 9/10 put more s/t in and it is 10/10.
Its not complete yet, and thanks for the advice. I'll add more spells and traps later. Although there shouldn't really be too many that are specific to DEEP monsters because they are meant to support other water decks and not form a deck on their own. RBY
Bump: I also added a new card (DEEP - Serpex) that is also meant to support Fish based decks by allowing you to Special Summon Fish from the Deck as tribute fodder.
celecha
This Set is well balanced and would have the possibility to be a real set.10/
Love of Ghibli
Serpex: You have to say where you can special summon the monster from (Hand, Deck, Graveyard, Banished Zone) Swordfish: If its face-down then it can't possibly have an effect that protects itself while face down. The set as a whole seem balanced but nothing really special I mean fish OTK was a pretty amazing deck so I guess I am a little critical of it.
Thanks for the input, and I'll fix Serpex (I must've overlooked that). You have a point about Swordfish, and I'm beginning to think that this set is a bit unfocused (even though they're meant to support other water decks). The point of the face-down thing was to simulate the fact that if they dove into the ocean you wouldn't be able to pick them out and that you could only get them with something that could churn the entire ocean (in other words, an effect that doesn't target). Maybe I should make it so that it can be flipped face-down and that if its flipped face-down by its own effect, then its can't be targeted. I also think that I should change their effects around so that they all have this ability (a common thread) in addition to other support effects and maybe change Narwhal's effect so its more supportive. Would you agree with that?
First eve if the effect starts face up and can "dive" to facedown position to protect itself that still means that effect resolves facedown and therefore cannot work. If your goal is to have fish save themselves by diving down the river then why not have it that they all cannot be targeted if Umi is on the field (like your super legendary fisherman aka Merman Hunter) nothing wrong with that. RBY
Thanks for clearing that up and for the suggestion. I guess I'll change the effects to that instead. It would make more sense and they would be more in line with the other decks that rely on Umi. I'll also probably get rid of the more generic effects (like piercing damage) in favor of more support related effects.
