One card to rule them all

I don't know if anyone else hates that a wind-up loop or any other broken opening by your opponent, destroys you before you get a turn. I thought this might balance the duel a little. It slows the game a little which would hopefully balance other strategies that are not wind up, inzector, chaos dragons or dino rabbit.

Wow that was annoying to get the picture uploaded. Done now, so what do you think of this card correcting a game mechanic?

OMG no! You cannot be serious! You have literally made a card that doesn't slow down the game it makes it practically unplayable. This sounds like one of those random conditions you have to deal with when playing the World Championship Video Games. I cannot express how bad this is.

I only read two of the tutorials on card making but I am sure one of these many tutorials has to say "do not make a card out of bitterness and hate." Because that is what is done here. in your attempt to slow the game down and destroy the meta you have basically given the game over to anyone who wants to run chain burn. They do not even need a monster to summon they just get to auto lock their opponent down and continue with their already hard to stop burn loopness. Second why damper yourself so much because you hate what someone else is doing that is why the concept of the side deck still exist.

If you have so much hatred towards the meta well..get an effect veiler they pretty much stop everything you would worry about anyway.

I am normally not this hostile but I was going to simply say the image is not fixed but that would be breaking the AC so I went through the trouble of figuring out what it did. If (when really) this thread is locked I advise that you do not re-post this I would hate to see the flaming rage this could inspire.

This would be the part where I normally say the words "Chill out, this a family site". But looking at the above card, I'm making a very big exception here.

Let me break down the mechanics here: First of all is the picture; OK! It's not too shabby here but the name you gave it, Level Limiter? Second; I am not a big fan off fake type monsters, Guardian is not the best choice here. I think Spellcaster would be the best bet here. And lastly the rest; A synchro monster that you cannot Synchro Summon because it is sent to Graveyard at Turn 1 of the Duel, that's dull. As long as it's in the Graveyard, no player can Summon Monsters whose level is greater than the Turn Number, 2 problems there; A) that there are plenty of cards that can EASILY remove that card from play and 2) All you have to do is Set the monster and on your next Turn you can Flip Summon the monster. All and all, you have a VERY LONG way to go before you can call this the "one card to rule them all.

I take it you have never had a wind up loop taking 5 cards out of your hand before you can play a card. Effect Veiler is a great card if you can draw it. If you havent had the chance to play a card and you have lost, there is no fun in that. Chain burn still requires more than one turn to win, yes this would make it more playable, but then other cards can be made or at least played to stop that. If you have played chain burn you will understand the deck doesnt "loop" it draws to its power cards by creating chains, hence chain burn and not loop burn.

Perhaps you get a decent hand, with no veiler or hand trap, your opponent heavys future fusions and proceeds to destroy you turn 2 with chaotic dragons. Wow what a fun game! The abuse and easy summonings of high level, powerful monsters for quick easy wins changes the game into a coin flip and removes any remaining skill from the game. I really enjoy the game, im just not a fan of the way the direction of this game has changed. big powerful combos winning instantly, making the next range of cards bigger and better so that they sell. this cannot continue without being detrimental to the game. i can not be the only person to see this!
It is not bitterness or hate, it is game mechanic correction. The game was originally meant to have this mechanic in it, that was the point of having different level monsters to begin with.
You seem to be getting angry over an idea. that to me seems strange that anyone would be so malicious over an idea? you would not survive a philosophy class if you get angry because someone contradicts your idea.

level limiter is a referral to level limit area B
guardian is a created type, it was intended to be a way to guard the integrity of the game by changing flawed game mechanics.
spellcaster type is an original type, psychics show that new types can be created. this card would be changing a fundamental rule, so it deserves a new type

yes removing it from play is a possibility to negate the effect, im quite happy for people to run cards to negate this, by doing that they slow down the rest of their deck. i wanted it to be able to be stopped. a card that says you play this and you win the game is not what i wanted to create. just slow the game down a little. also the card can be summoned if avarice is used to return it to the extradeck. but having 0 atk & def meant that no1 would want to summon it. as lv 12 is the highest lv, after 6 turns each there would be no restrictions on summoning. so you could actively try to remove it or just wait for mid game. setting a monster does get around it. but you have to wait a turn before you can use the set monster, again slowing the game down. this means you are not defenceless if you draw a lv 4 monster. i do not see this as a problem. in fact i worded it such that there are ways around it. give the decks out there 3 turns each, in that time enough decisions can be made so that you win or loose the duels based on your own merit and not how well your opponent opens.

in terms of one card to rule them all, clearly a pun on lord of the rings. this one monster card, changes the rules for all monster cards.

Making players wait a bunch of turns will make the game dull. I'd also bet Final Countdown could abuse this card.
Making it a Synchro Monster is pretty odd too, since it won't ever be used properly.

You want something more like:
"If your opponent Special Summons (X) or more times during their turn, you can Special Summon this card from your (X) and end their turn."
