Medivh
I was writing an original Sci-Fi novel when I suddenly had the urge to write a YGO fic. This is my first Fic on this site, so I'll take all comments and criticisms, but please, go easy. I don't want this turning into a black hole of embarrassment like it did when I posted my first deck on here. Speaking of decks, I have created and tested most of the current character's decks on DN without the addition of Custom Cards that could be added later, and they're all pretty decent. But enough with the introductions... YU-GI-OH! Core of the Abyss
The rancid smell of wax and smoke filled the tavern, which bustled with activity. Many were drinking, laughing, and playing darts or getting into bar fights. This was a Destiny HERO bar. Disk Commander was stumbling around drunkenly, and put his arm around Dunker's neck. "Beautiful...weather...we're having..." he told the monster next to him, speech slurred. "Get your hands off me," grunted Dunker, and shoved Disk Commander into a wall roughly. The fellow HERO hit the wall with a resounding thud, and slid down it, until he was sitting under one of the candles the lit the bar. Disk Commander then got up, shouting angrily. "What ya'd do that for?!" he shouted. Dunker didn't reply. "Hello?" Disk Commander shouted again. "I Don't talk to drunken bums," Dunker said. "That's it!" the Commander yelled, and took one of the many razor-sharp CD's off of his shoulders and threw it at Dunker like a ninja star. Before the chucked disk could hit the other HERO, however, a spike flew out of the air and pinned the CD against the tavern wall, cracking both objects the process. The entire tavern fell silent. Even Disk Commander stopped stumbling around like an idiot at the sound of the collision. "Stop bickering, you two," said the raspy voice of Doom Lord. "You're both acting like children." The shot spike dissapeared, fading into red smoke, and the pinned disk fell to the floor. The intimidating anti-hero walked towards Dunker and Disk Commander, long, torn cape flowing behind him. "Anyhow," Doom Lord continued, the regular chatter of the bar resuming. "I have an assignment for you." The HERO handed Dunker a flyer with some information on it, and he in turned showed it to Disk Commander. "Kill one of the Monarchs?!" shouted Dunker and Disk Commander at the same time, both shocked. "Caius, specifically. " Answered Doom Lord. "B-But everyone knows the Monarchs are the ones who run the world, and that they're the best fighters on the face of this planet! And Caius' the leader! Of all of them!" continued Dunker. Doom Lord sighed with exasperation. "We know, Dunker." "Killing him would plunge the world into chaos!" Disk Commander chimed in. "Who would want that?!" "Look, this is the best-paying job we've had in a while," Doom Lord replied. "If you die trying, well, you die trying. That's your problem, not mine. If you don't take the job, you'll die either way. So, die a slow, painful death -" at this, a spike suddenly extended from one of Doom Lord's gauntlets, centimeters away from Dunker's stomach. "- or take the job and stand to make some money?" Dunker grumbled and muttered "We'll take the job." "Wise choice," answered Doom Lord, the spike retracting into his gauntlet. "Come on," Dunker told Disk Commander, walking towards the door. Suddenly, the entrance exploded in a flash of red light, and Disk Commander and Dunker were sent flying back. From the blown out entrance, Dark Crusader entered, followed by Dark Catapult and Jinzo - Returner. One Destiny HERO, Blade Master, foolishly charged the Crusader in a drunken stupor. There was a flash, and the terrible, agonizing sound of steel tearing through armor and later flesh, then a thud. Blood rolled down the bar wall were Blade Master had been pinned to the wall by the Crusader's sword. With some effort, the warrior removed his blade from Blade Master's stomach, and the fallen HERO fell to the ground, a smack echoing throughout the bar. "We're the Shadow Monarch's Special Forces," spat Dark Crusader. "And we happened to overhear your little conversation." As the Crusader spoke the last word, Dark Catapult fired a bolt of energy at the bar counter, creating an explosion and sending the limp bodies of Heroes flying in all directions. At this, Jinzo - Returner snickered. Multiple spikes extended from Doom Lord's gauntlets with the screech of metal on metal. "Get out," the Lord growled at Dark Crusader, who in turn laughed. "You don't really think you can beat us, do you?" he chuckled. "I said -" grunted Doom Lord, spikes shooting from his gauntlet and at the Crusader. "-get OUT!" Dark Crusader yawned and deflected the spikes with the flat of his sword. As soon the their attack failed, the spikes exploded into red smoke. Three more spikes again extended from the Lord's gauntlets. "I was hoping to have a little bit of fun," sighed the Crusader. "Oh, well." A rotating red outline of a diamond that contained various symbols appeared at Dark Crusader's feet. Both Dark Catapult and Jinzo - Returner grunted and fell to their knees, weakened by it, while the Crusader's sword shone crimson with power. Both Doom Lord and Dark Crusader rushed at each other and slashed, creating an explosion that blew off the bar's roof. When the smoke cleared, Doom Lord's armor cracked and fell off, and the anti-hero dropped to his feet, clutching his stomach. Meanwhile, the Crusader's sword had stopped glowing and he stood with his back to Doom Lord. Soon after, the Lord collapsed, dead. The remaining Heroes fled at once. Dark Crusader tapped his sword on his shoulder. Another job well done, he thought, turning and leaving without bothering to check on the whereabouts of Dunker and Disk commander. Dark Catapult and Jinzo - Returner followed him out the door.
Medivh
Andrew Holoska sat on the porch of his house, overlooking the block were he lived. His friend, Liam Free, lived in a house across the street from his. Andrew was half asleep, cap pulled down over his eyes. He yawned. "Get up!" shouted a voice in Andrew's ear. The boy sat bolt upright, cap flying off of the top of his head. He turned to face his assailant. He found himself staring into the eyes of Liam. Andrew yawned, grabbed his cap, and put it back on. "What do you want?" he asked. "I made a new deck! It's unbeatable! I could destroy you in..." Here we go again, Andrew thought. Liam did this about every other day. He would test his new deck against Andrew, and lose. Instead of making changes to the deck and refining it, Liam would scrap it, store the cards in a drawer, and make an entirely new one. Wendsday, it was a Ritual Deck. Monday, a Fish deck. Saturday, a Dino Rabbit deck. "...Three turns," Andrew finished for Liam, and yawned again. "Sure, whatever." Andrew took his deck and Duel Disk from the table beside him, and both he and Liam, who already had his deck place in the Duel Disk on his arm, walked down Andrew's front steps and onto his lawn. The host placed his deck in his duel disk, which folded to the "ready" position, and drew six cards. "Guess I'll start," Andrew began. "I Normal Summon Dark Effigy." A rotating black sphere appeared in front of Andrew. Purple bricks materialized around the sphere, and slammed into it, creating a floating black cube. (ATK 1500 / DEF 0) "I'll set 1 card in the backrow, and it's your move," he finished as a giant image of a face-down Duel Monsters card appeared behind Dark Effigy. "My turn!" Liam half-shouted. "Draw! I activate Future Fusion, and send Goddess With the Third Eye and Black Luster Soldier from my deck to my grave. In two turns, I'll Summon Dragon Master Knight, if this card is still on my field!" Three skyscrapers rose out of the ground behind Liam, and a purple, blue, and white portal appeared in front of them. "I Set one monster face-down and one Spell or Trap card to finish." Two face-down Duel Monster cards, one appearing sideways before vanishing and the other next to Future Fusion and remaining. Andrew drew his card without a word. "Tribute Dark Effigy for Dark Magician, with it's effect making it count as two tributes for the Tribute Summon of a DARK Normal Monster." As he spoke, the bricks that made up the majority of Dark Effigy vanished, leaving only the rotating black orb, which changed shape, forming into a tall magician wielding a green staff, clad in dark blue and red armor, and tall hat. (ATK 2500 / DEF 2100) "From my hand, I activate the Spell Card Dark Magic Attack," Andrew continued. "If I control a Dark Magician, this card destroys all of your Spell and Trap cards." Dark Magician raised his staff into the air with a yell, a green orb of energy forming at the stave's top. "Not so fast!" Liam countered. "I activate the Trap Card Starlight Road! When a card effect would destroy two or more cards I control, this card negates the effect and destroys that card, and I get a Stardust Dragon!" As Dark Magician hurled the orb at the Future Fusion, Liam's Trap Card flipped opened, creating a pillar of white light that consumed the orb and blinded both Duelists. When their vision cleared, a large, humanoid white dragon with bluish-white wings and yellow eyes had appeared. Opening it's mouth, it gave an ear-splitting screech (ATK 2500 / DEF 2000). Andrew frowned. "I end my turn," he finished. "Draw!" Liam yelled. "One more turn until Dragon Master Knight hits the field." The portal of Future Fusion shone brightly for a brief moment. "To begin, I tribute my face-down Masked Dragon for Luster Dragon #2-" he began. "I activate my Trap Card - Forced Back." Andrew interrupted. "This negates the Normal Summon of your monster and returns it to your hand." A bluish-green Dragon that appeared to be made out of crystal appeared and consumed the Masked Dragon, only to be knocked back by a wave of energy and returned to it's owner's hand. Liam grunted. "I guess I'll have to end my turn," he finished. Andrew's eyebrows furrowed with concentration as he drew his card. Unless I get rid of that Future Fusion, Dragon Master Knight's gonna destroy my field next turn. He thought, and looked at the card he had drawn. Andrew frowned in disgust at the Pitch-Black Warwolf he had drawn. Useless! "I pass," he told Liam, and braced himself for the worst. Liam cracked a wide grin as he drew his card. "Since it's my second Standby Phase after activating Future Fusion, Dragon Master Knight is Fusion Summoned onto my field!" he shouted. The portal behind Liam shot up into the air and whirled and expanded, growing until it covered the entire sky above Andrew and his opponent. From that portal, a lone knight in royal blue and gold armor wielding a shield and sword mounted on a massive, three-headed dragon with blue eyes and white skin descended, and landed on the ground with an earth-shaking roar (ATK 5000 / DEF 5000). "Due to it's effect," Liam continued. "It gains 500 ATK for every Dragon-type monster I control, other than itself!" The three-headed dragon and Stardust Dragon both roared. (DMK ATK 5500 / DEF 5000) Liam pointed at Dark Magician. "Dragon Master Knight! Destroy Dark Magician! Iblis roar!" The Soldier riding the three-headed dragon's sword shone purple, and it shot a purple beam of energy at Dark Magician as each of the dragon's three heads shot a light blue beam of energy at the Magician at the same time. The attacks crossed, creating a single, massive white blast of energy that blew away the unfortunate Magician. Andrew grunted and slid back a few paces and the attack hit Dark Magician (Andrew LP: 5000). Liam grinned, and continued the onslaught. "Stardust Dragon!" he shouted. "Attack Andrew directly! Cosmic Fire!" Stardust Dragon screeched and shot off a bolt of blue fire at Andrew, which hit him head on. (Andrew LP: 2500). Andrew staggered, breathing heavily. There's only one card that could help now...he thought.
