Breathing Life into Tribute Summons - Treeborn Toad

Inspired by Tongue Twister, I decided that Tribute Summons had become a thing of the past and need some more support. Treeborn Frog is a nice tool, but considering they still are Normal Summons so you can only complete one per turn, I created this instead. It works as a Treeborn Frog for low ATK tribute monsters, but also allows multiple summons of this type per turn.

This card can be Special Summoned (from your Graveyard) during your Standby Phase by revealing 1 Level 5 or higher monster with 1000 or less ATK. This card can only be used as Tribute for a Tribute Monster with 1000 or less ATK. During a turn this card is sent to the Graveyard, the Tribute Summon of monster(s) with 1000 or less ATK does not count toward the limit of 1 Normal Summon or Set per turn.

This has the potential to improve everything from Tongue Twister to Yubel to Mutant Mindmaster. The goal was to add playability to cards that previously had little or none.

Gotta love the constructive criticism nowadays.

Anyway, it's not that the card is bad, it's that it literally creates an infinite drawing loop.

All you need is 2 copies of this in the Graveyard (ridiculously easy), 1 Precious Cards from Beyond, and any Level 8 in hand. You continue to reveal, Summon, Draw 2, and do it again, and as long as your Deck has enough monsters to do it, you could easily draw your entire Deck or net a ton of advantage really easily.

There are only 11 monsters that actually fit its requirements (for precious cards of beyond) and they have their own draw backs in themselves.

Here are the monsters:

Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca

Fog King

Gandora the Dragon of Destruction

Ironhammer the Giant

Koitsu

Metaion, the Time Lord

Metallizing Parasite - Lumatite

Regenerating Rose

The Tyrant Neptune

Venomminon the King of Poisonous Snakes

Yubel
I suppose you can try and make some sort oof Exodia deck with this...but it seems way too inconsistent for that use.

What I DO see with this card however...is alot of Spam, especially as Synchro Fodder. Its easy to reveal an Tragoedia, or Black Luster Soldier and then go into some plays...but there aren't thate many cards that can use this guy. If you were to put 3 of this guys in the Grave and then spam them all for Xyz Summonings, such as Galaxy Queen, you still have some trouble with all these monsters...

Personally I see this card becoming a "free shield" when you are backed up into a corner, though there might be something I missed O-o.

Ok, I am fixing the infinite drawing loop problem. Sorry that I did that in the first place, my brain apparently isn't working too well today. To make it work better, as well as more like Treeborn Frog, it now only works in the Standby Phase. While I don't see the whole problem with infinite draw becoming TOO big of a problem, because it requires LOTS of big monsters in your hand, which could easily clog up your deck, I am not a big fan of fast-win OTKs, and this even has the possibility to speed up some FTKs. Making it require the Standby Phase gets rid of all potential for 1-turn loops and FTK support, so it is just all round better IMO.

As for the "free shield" aspect, I don't believe that this card is that OP'd for this reason, just because so many other cards do that. A normal Treeborn Frog could achieve the same result. As for the x3 Rank 1 XYZs, I thought of that, and I still think it is hilarious. If it breathes some extra life into those cards, all the better.

That's why I'm defending the card! XP Its was a good card like before, mainly because the "infinite draw" loop is considerably inconsistent and the big monsters in your hand are limited to those I had listed (since they are the only ones who would work with this card in the first place if you were to use Precious Cards from Beyond).

Well, now its a bit more slower, it still doesn't have any good targets for its own effect, but it can lead to free shields (which I didn't state was OPed, but quite decent) and provides Synchro Fodder should you choose to use it like that. It's still a well rounded card, but still a tad slower than before.
