Two Spirit-Supporting Spells

Max Darkness

Both of these came from a general interest in Spirit Decks, and their inherent weakness. "Forgotten Dynasty" is a pseudo-replacement for the now-banned "Royal Oppression", also giving you a one-monster swing in the process. "Dawn of New Life" on the other hand is to make up for Spirit Monsters' general lack of a searcher, or indeed any Deck-thinning. Both are also designed to give you some reason to put Spirit Monsters in your Graveyard.

Enjoy.

Effect: When your opponent Summons a monster from their Extra Deck, send 1 Spirit Monster from your hand to the Graveyard: Banish that Summoned Monster, and target 1 Spirit Monster in your Graveyard; Place that target on the field. That target returns to your hand when it would leave the field.

Effect: Reveal 1 Spirit Monster in your hand: Target 1 Spirit Monster in your Deck whose ATK is lower than the revealed monster's; Add that target to your hand. During your End Phase, except if this card was sent to the Graveyard during that turn, you can banish this card and 1 Spirit Monster in your Graveyard: Target and banish 1 Spirit Monster from your Deck; When you Normal Summon a Spirit Monster, you can add that target to your hand.

Forgotten Dynasty: Being a Spell avoids being countered by the plenty anti-Trap Cards, that's good. Also placing avoids the nasty 'return' clause Spirits have. Also returning the target makes it even better.
The image & name both remember me of Japanese mythology, on which most Spirits are based, which is also good. And the name seems to also be a refference to the fact that Spirits are basicly forgotten under most players. Which is also nice.
Overal I'd give it a 9.3/10.

Dawn of a New Live
An excelent searcher, which Spirits really lack so it's really good it can effectively search 2 of them. Pretty much a staple for all Spirit Decks.
The image is nice and looks somewhat mystical, so it kinda fits the subtype.
Overal I'd give this one a 9.5/10

I absolute agree with Lex here, Best cards to throw in with spririt monsters now. I especially like the 2nd one, as it searches, but aids in the spirits immensely. 9.8/10 from me, but great cards overall...

Thanks both for commenting. Good to know I can still make useable cards. I'll try to expland this selection in a bit.
