Meteora Onslaught [Luminia Meteora Dragon]

This was originally the start of an archetype I made a while ago, but times have changed, and so has the metagame, and what might have been "well-designed" or "balanced" back then could easily be considered "broken" now. The archetype was originally inspired by Kaito and his Photon cards, and that's made quite obvious by the parallels between Galaxy-Eyes and what can be seen as the key card of this Archetype.

Without further ado, I present the Meteoras...or Meteora, for now...

You can Tribute 1 Level 5 or higher LIGHT monster you control and banish 2 LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard; Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn: This card cannot be destroyed by card effects. During the Battle Phase: Negate the effects of any monster that battles with this card. When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can banish this card after Damage Calculation. If this card is banished by its own effect: Special Summon it during your next Standby Phase.

Suggestions and constructive criticism is much appreciated.

I remember seeing this on Yugico a while back, when I was making a starter deck for a fanfic character.

I think the summoning condition is a bit unorthodox, but considering how many LIGHT monsters are all over the place, it works. The once-per-turn effect destruction balances nicely with the unorthodox and very restrictive summoning condition. The final effect intrigues me...It can be a very valuable out to things like Adreus, Volcasaurus, and Zenmaines (if you think he might get targeted for destruction more than once), and then it returns later for more havoc.

Overall, I think it's very well-designed and balanced. The banishing, while preventing it from being attacked and hit by other effects that would dispose of it, is balanced, as it does leave you somewhat more open.

Keep up the good work, Zex.

Thanks for your feedback, Dharc.

I originally made the summoning conditions generic (in terms of the banished monsters in the Graveyard), so if that seems unreasonable I can always change it back. As for the purpose of the Level 5 LIGHT monster "requirement", that will be revealed soon as I post more cards for the set.

Also, another thing regarding the banishing effect - it leaves it vulnerable to cards such as Warning and Rai-oh, since the effect states "Special Summon" rather than "return", so it can be a risky move as well.
