captianforge
Hey! These are my first cards, I made 9 and I'm planning on making more "Halo" cards, but I want to know if I'm doing anything wrong before I go out and make like 40 cards. Any and all advice will be appreciated, particularly in specific grammar correction since I don't exactly know that stuff too well. So... here we go... Jdrawer
A lot of these are Beast-Warrior, but a lot of aliens in Yu-Gi-Oh are Reptiles. 1) Covenant Brute: Its effect reflects its brutish nature. 2) Covenant Drone: I'd make it a level 2 or 3, and instead of "Attack mode," you should put "ATK position." 3) Covenant Elite: No real problems here. 4) Covenant Engineer: Here I'd REALLY make it a Reptile (being a snake), or at least a Machine (being an engineer). It's effect should read "this monster must be Summoned in DEF position. You cannot attack the turn you Summon this monster." Always capitalize "Summon." I like its effect, but with having to give up your attacks, 200 DEF isn't really worth it. And with no attack and only 200 DEF, it'll get blown away. Were you meaning 2000? 5) Covenant Grunt: I'd make it a level 3 6) Covenant Hunter: Do you really think this thing could take out Blue-Eyes? I don't. I'd lower its ATK stat, especially with its effect. Level 9 for sure, even at a lower ATK. 7) Covenant Jackal: "When this monster is Summoned successfully, place a counter on it (max. 1). You can remove one counter from this monster to negate an attack. During your Standby Phase, if this monster has no counters on it, put one one it." I'd name your counter. There's a LOT of counters out there. Covenant Prophet: This guy MIGHT be able to go toe-to-toe with Blue-Eyes... maybe... 9) Covenant Skirmisher: Change "who's" to "whose." Overall, I enjoyed these cards, they're pretty balanced and I didn't find a lot of problems. I hope this helped!

For what you said about the engineer, it seems like a really overpowered effect in my opinion, so I wanted the cost for using it to be that the owner has to block any attacks to that card the next turn. Maybe that was too much of an adverse side effect though, I might just have the card holder loose life points.
Expelsword
Newsflash on Covenant Engineer, you can easilly summon it on your opponent's turn with Call of the Haunted/Limit Reverse, avoiding its drawback completely.
vipermatt96
Most of them are fairly rubbish because they have one dimensional effects and they don't seem to relate to each other like most arch types. I remember seeing some much better halo cards by a guy called six samz 500. However he never finished the set
