Terrors of the Sea - The core cards WATER should have had.

This is the WATER version of thisthread.

WATER's theme is that of fodder and field control. The WATER strategy involves summoning monsters like Mobius the Frost Monarch or Tribe Shocking Virus that destroy cards on the field, while using cards like Treeborn Frog, Ronintoadin, and Sinister Serpent (yes I know it is banned) as fodder to minimize their costs. Behold - Mobius' Minions!

The Hand Trap (envoy):

During either player's turn: You can discard this card to the Graveyard to target 1 monster in either player's Graveyard; Special Summon that target to its owner's side of the field in face-up Attack Position on either player's side of the field. That monster's effects are negated and ATK is reduced to 0.

The Beatstick:

When this card destroys a monster and sends it to the Graveyard: You can tribute 1 monster you control; This card gains ATK equal to that card's ATK until the End Phase and can attack an additional time this turn.

The Defender - Snowman Eater (konami already gave them a good one of these!)

The Tuner:

During your Standby Phase, you must Special Summon this card from your Graveyard by selecting 1 monster you control and reducing its Level by 1.While this card remains in your Graveyard, you cannot Normal Summon or Set.

Leviathan Larvae eat Summons or Stars but are easy to breed!

The Synchro:

When this card is Synchro Summoned: Destroy Spell and Trap cards on the field equal to the number of this card's Synchro Material Monsters. Once per turn, when this card attacks or is attacked: You can Banish 1 WATER monster in your Graveyard and have this card gain ATK equal to that card's ATK. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: Special Summon all monsters Banished by this card's effect.

I am a bit worried about seaterror... he seems potentially uberly powerful.

The Trap:

Target 2 monsters on the field: Tribute 1 WATER monster; Change control of the targeted monsters. Their effects are negated and their ATK is reduced to 0.

When a card(s) on the Graveyard is returned to the hand or field: Special Summon 1 Terror Token (Fish-Type/WATER/Level 2/ATK 0/DEF 0) to that player's side of the field. During either player's turn, you can return this card to the Deck; Tribute any number of monsters with 0 ATK on either side of the field; Add 1 WATER monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand with a Level equal to or less than the combined Level of the Tributed monsters.

What do you think?

The WATER strategy is swarming. Like throughout YGO history, WATER has been insanely aggressive. To be honest, they don't even have a strategy, so not sure where you're going.

Also, it's quite obvious that things like Envoy of the Abyss and stuff are just really stupidly designed. Look how Hieratics came out (not regarding stealing, but regarding balancing with the negate, stats to 0). Stealing monsters should be a rarely-used mechanic, and it doesn't make for good design usually. When it is, it's slow but techy. Note things like Memory of a Rival, Mental Corruption. At worst, Envoy of the Abyss is a D.D. Crow, and at best, it's free tribute fodder, free Xyzs, and free Synchros. Basically, it's as good as Mind Control. Which should really be banned. Same deal with Abyss Eater, because frankly, mathematically, it's a +2. And a very good one, at that.

The Synchro has no materials, which you should fix. And I don't know what possessed you to make it, because it actually is a replacement Brionac. Except possibly even better than Brionac because it dodges BtH :S

Leviathan Larvae is awful design. Potentially broken, because there is probably a combo involving it in the same way that Mind Master and Fishborg Blaster ended up being broken. And Glow-Up Bulb for that matter.

The Rising Terror literally just looks unplayable, because, frankly, it's relying on you using Surface and Salvage. And if you're using those, you're probably running a combo deck. And if you are, you've probably already got your components and this will just clog up your field anyway.

Unchained Leviathan probably is the only vaguely well designed card here. Because it's actually a really efficient attacker, which is something that a lot of decks lack. Unsure of where it actually fits, because Atlanteans prefer Megalobyss and other decks prefer Rai-Oh.

[background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Not understanding this. Mind Control takes their monster ON THE FIELD, essentially giving a +1 if you can use it. This just takes their monster OFF THE FIELD, giving you a +0 if you can use it. Also mind control doesn't negate the effects, which isn't negligible. [/background]

[background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Ill add a "once per turn" clause to it. Requiring an entire turn's wait, you to have a monster on the field, making it mandatory, and making it once per turn coming out at an inconvenient time is very different than self-reviving shiz you can use during your main phase.[/background]
