Tentacruel
That's never a good plan. No matter who they are. They may be biased, but they're not always wrong. Same with Fox News... though I still think that Fox News is worse than MSNBC.
Yeah, I kind of worded that wrong. A better way to put it would be, "Take what they say with a grain of salt." Fox News is worse, but the difference is getting smaller.
So what you are saying is that, out of the two stations, MSNBC is the most credible?
MSNBC is a bit more credible when it comes to reporting news, but they're both just as terrible when it comes to biased bantering.
More credible. It depends on who you're watching. I prefer Maddow out of all of them. My suggestion would be, in general, even for Fox News in some cases, only watch/pay attention to the news reports and ignore all the commentary and analysis and you should be fine.
Yeah, I kind of worded that wrong. A better way to put it would be, "Take what they say with a grain of salt." Mehmani
In this situation, if you are arguing the right-wing case, you know you are beaten. Fox News is clearly a far more biased channel than any other news channel. Essentially, you can't defend Fox News. They're just...well, too easy a target to take out. So, what, champions of the right, what should one do? Do what Comrade Sparkle is doing and attack the other side, even though they are significantly more neutral than Fox will ever be. Compare El Billo to Keith Olbermann. As soon as MSNBC found out that Olbermann donated money to those Democrats, they sacked him. Billo the Clown is very open about his convictions and Fox don't touch him. To claim that centrist MSNBC are "the liberal version of Fox News" is just insanity. The material, or rather, "dirt" that MSNBC produces consists of off-hand comments and the aforementioned Olbermann incident, which was dealt with immediately. Fox News make comments similar to the Chris Matthews comment every single day. MSNBC is "just as bad as Fox when it comes to biased bantering?" Christ, you really, really need to get some perspective. Stop letting your convictions blind you.

If by "perspective" you mean "change your perception of the center," then yes, you're right. The location of the center is quite subjective, so I could say you are also missing some, "perspective." If I am letting my convictions blind me by comparing one media outlet to another, then so be it, but I am not defending Fox News.
Well the main reason is that Fox News started doing this before and MSNBC is just trying to copycat for liberals.
It's nice how you've ignored everything I said except the comment about centrism. I just want to clarify this: I really, really love the original principles of the USA. Jefferson and the founding fathers were absolute visionaries - they produced the world's first secular constitutional democracy. If Jefferson could see the dramatic role religion plays in deciding everything, he would be extremely disappointed. However, by "get some perspective", I mean "have an understanding of mainstream politics outside of America." No other country in the world has as warped a view of the left in politics as America. They took their hatred for the Soviet Union (perfectly reasonable hatred, I might add) and a select few manipulative bastards extrapolated it to encompass everything left of the centre. Obama is not left-wing. He is centrist in both his economic policy and social policy. In every country in Europe, Obama would probably be in the centrist party (in the UK, that's New Labour, in France, Sarko's party). You've openly admitted that you have no sense of perspective outside of your own opinion. You've said that you are comparing MSNBC to Fox because you are biased ("If I am letting my convictions blind me by comparing one media outlet to another, then so be it..."). Agro
Bloopbloopbloop. Technically speaking, Obama was much more liberal when he first ran. I should really retake that political compass quiz.

You've said that you are comparing MSNBC to Fox because you are biased ("If I am letting my convictions blind me by comparing one media outlet to another, then so be it...").
Eh, I suppose you're right about the first part. I never said America, wasn't biased, because they/we sure as hell are, but about the bold, I only meant that if I am doing what you consider to be letting my convictions blind me, then there's nothing to be done. But consider this, while MSNBC's political reflections might be centrist by international standards, they are almost liberal by definition, in that they break away from America's conservatives. They're a foil to things like Fox. And I suppose I was exaggerating when I said they were as bad as Fox, but I never meant that they were as politically extreme as Fox. Fox isn't terrible because they're extremely conservative, they're terrible because they live in a bubble and have downright terrible news practices. MSNBC copied Fox's business model, in a sense. And one more thing, I was never talking about Obama. I'm perfectly aware that Obama is no leftie. Socially speaking, I'm fairly close to him, but economically speaking, I'm actually more liberal than he is. See?
