Firebird Mother

First of all, it's been a while since I've posted any cards here so I apologize if I'm a bit rusty, I'm also not entirely used to the new card grammer so I'm unsure of how the effect should be written, that said any constructive critisism is welcomed.

Basic idea of this card is essentially an evolved Firebird and I made it primarily to be a card used by one of my fanfic characters who uses a FIRE Winged-Beast Deck (there are actually very few FIRE Winged-Beasts, this surprised me. Oh well, guess I get to correct that.)

Lore: If a Winged-Beast-Type FIRE monster you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your hand; then this card gains 500 ATK. Each time a FIRE monster you control is destroyed you can activate 1 of the following effects: ● This card Gains 500 ATK ● Inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent.

As is, I wouldn't call it bad. It's outclassed in what it does, which is make easy Rank 6's (Anything beyond that is too situational and gimmicky).

The BIGGEST problem with the card is it's just so situational. We have exactly /7/ FIRE Winged-Beasts in the game.

Crimson Sunbird: A terrible vanilla Fusion that isn't even be summoned by Instant Fusion.

Fenghuang: It's a Level 6 Spirit Monster. The chances of it being destroyed is low, unless by Bottomless or Torrential. On another note, if you already have one of these on field, you can go for a Rank 6 after clearing out backrow so that's interesting at least.

Firebird: Obviously where this idea came from. It's mediocre and slow with the boost taking too long to be any threat, especially with all the removal we have.

Fushi No Tori: /Another/ Spirit Monster. Same problem as with Feng, except the effect is crappy and has almost NO attack.

Sacred Pheonix of Nephthys: This could actually be an interesting way Undermeta deck. Nuke Nephthys, special Summon this. Problem is that doesn't really get you anywhere, but a free Special Summon is very rarely bad, and this is summoned with a respectable 2500.

Soaring Eagle Above the Searing Land: It's a Tuner. It's Level 1. Problem is it's effect would mean almost nothing, and it doesn't do a whole lot for you other than give you limited Synchro access.

ZW - Phoenix Bow: As is, this card is terrible. It only works for Number C39 and has no use outside of it. This card doesn't want to be in the grave, so it isn't worth running it for this card.

Ultimately, the deck has to be heavily based around this card, and even then only two cards can really make use of it. I will say it was an interesting idea, and I like it, but as it is, it just has so few uses since it's so specific.

And then, if you take out the Winged-Beast part, it's just begging to be abused, same if you take out the FIRE part. It's a tricky balance for cards like this.

Yeah, was more or less aware of that when going in, which is part of the reason I made it in the first place (Sarcred Phoenix being one of my favourite cards I'm naturally inclinded to make combos to try and elevate her rather mediocre status) ><. As I said though, the main intention of this card is to be used in a fanfic along with other customs of the same type and attribute.

I like this card except the "when a winged-beast FIRE monster" part. I don't think I have ever seen a winged-beast FIRE but I just recently started getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh again. If this monster's effect didn't have the winged-beast part and just FIRE I would want this card in my FIRE deck, which leans more to doing direct damage then battle damage. Nice card but the effect needing a "winged-beast FIRE" is what turns me off of this card. Well the good thing about making cards, you can make more cards to work with this one. Also, great job on the drawing.
