Its name becomes the banished monster's name. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked: You can shuffle it into the Deck; Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Lucilla".

"Gladiator Beast Lucilla" + 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster + 1 DARK monster
Must first be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by shuffling the above cards from anywhere on the field into the Deck. (You do not use "Polymerization".) Once per turn, if a card would be sent to the Deck by the effect of a "Gladiator Beast" monster, you can negate that effect and Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" from your Deck. If a "Gladiator Beast" monster(s) is Special Summoned from your Deck, you can return 1 banished "Gladiator Beast" monster to your Graveyard to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. You can control only 1 "Gladiator Beast Primal Maxentius".

Design-wise, I really don't like the 'DARK monster' thing. GBs are unlikely to run many, and cards that rely on your opponent's Deck are bad card design. Lucilla seems okay - another Icarus Attack target is always welcome - but the banish effect can hurt them until Primal brings it back. They prefer monsters in the Deck to the Grave, would probably like to keep Darius targets, ect.

I also don't like Primal's trigger to self-revive. Getting a GB from the Deck means you probably just gained some advantage, and if you already had the setup earlier in the game to get Primal out, you're probably in a really strong position. I think it's got too much risk to snowball advantages into the GB-player's favor. Something your opponent triggers - when you take battle damage, when a GB dies, when your opponent controls more monsters than you, ect, would be a better trigger.

Well, most decks run DARK monsters, especially in the current meta. And you can easily splash in dark monsters like the Tour guide engine. It doesn't NEED to be a gladiator beast, any dark monster works. Extra deck is situational by design. On the Lucilla comment: Fair enough, banishing in glads isn't really that productive. But the ability to special summon your opponent's monsters is pretty op. The banish effect is optional, and it also sports the advantage of gaining the name to summon boss glads from extra deck. You can also use it with Leviair to bring back the banished target. Its a +1 and opens opportunities.

Edit: it also sort of replaces Lanista with a clearly more dominant effect.

You bring a good point, I may consider changing it. The effect was originally made to counter the common removing traps (bottomless and prison), which hurt glads a lot, and is synergetic with its named fusion material. However, I think the card provides enough advantage already (+1 each turn for a successful tag) to not have it come back easily.
