Laudanum
"Choose to: pay 700 life points once per turn to add 1 level 5 or 6 Spellcaster-type Monster from your Deck to your hand; and/or pay 1400 life points, and discard 1 Spell Card, once every 2 turns to add a level 7 or higher Spellcaster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand (this can be any time during the turn in which you pay). If you choose both options in the same turn, pay an additional 700 life points and discard an additional Spell Card." Um, well, this is a Spell Card designed to use with a Spellcaster-centered deck. This is the first of a set that I have an idea for. The point of this card was to balance the ability to access high-powered Spellcasters with a very high price and one which could potentially compromise it's usage. Anyway, I'm new here (this is the first card I've created). I've read the rules and looked around the Realistic Card topics to get an idea of things, so I'll try not to make any major mistakes or do anything against the rules - either in forum etiquette or card making - but if I do, if you could please point this out to me I'd very much appreciate it. Any word of feedback that could point me in the right direction would be great!
YGOCard
WOW! That was amazing! Cant, believe i rad all of that, all though I think 2800 is too little for both. I think it should be one or the other, but then agian 2800 points is alot and you could potentially lose both 2800 points and cards you drew lol..
(please read rules before you review a card ....) Ugh, >.<... Anyway, now for the card. First off, ur OCG (official card grammar) needs work (use this as a guide http://forum.yugiohc...ntation-thread/). Well your card actually is bad. It helps get chaos sorc, some lightrays, some prophecies, but it's cost is ridiculous. Also these cards are usually added easily to their owner's hand with the right deck. It's a continuous spell and those last barely 3 turns if your lucky. Maybe change it to a quick-spell and a lower cost (not sure what type of cost would be balanced). It's not terrible at all for a first card but it still needs work. Most first time cards are horribly o'ped. Good job anyways..... A degree in astrophysics?!

Yeah, I didn't think my first card would be counted as good, I was just trying to avoid horrible hehe. Guess I kind of succeeded? I did read the OCG thread before I made the card, but I think I may need a few tries to get the hang of it. I tried to make sure I didn't make any mistakes with the terms, but I think it's the actual grammar and syntax that I'm not getting yet . With the card content, I tried to balance off the ability to gain access to specific cards immediately with a very high potentially disabling cost - kind of a high-stakes gamble. I don't know whether this was really a good idea for a card or not though. I sort of thought it would be the kind of card you could use in a tight spot if your carefully constructed deck went awry, and if you were lucky you could keep it in play long enough to reap the benefits. Probably not the best idea to start card-making with... Anyway, just on Spell Cards in general, is it better to make them more specific and directed towards, say, summoning a certain monster, or to make them more general and versatile? ... And yes, Astrophysics. First year after transferring. The maths, astronomy and theoretical physics is quite awesome actually, it's the ridiculous attention to detail in the experiments and the hell of all inventions STATISTICS that's the problem! Better than what I was doing last year, I suppose
WOW! That was amazing! I tried to make it balanced but I wasn't quite sure what price would be too steep and what would be too low, but I did try to make it so the loss of 3K could put you in a worse position if you didn't use the card correctly, and make it a bit of a gamble. Hopefully it wasn't too terrible for a first card ^^; Nice sig btw,
The more general the better.... although it might be too oped if it's too general. Like how Reinforcement of the Army is limited cuz it search a whole crud load of stuff. Although in some situations a specific card is better, like in a themed deck or a deck based around it.
