Stewie510
I would love it if water decks were a bit more competitive. So, I've tried to make some creations. What do you guys think? Fixed: Poseidon, King of the Seas You can Special Summon this card by banishing two WATER monsters from your Graveyard. As long as "Umi" is face-up on the field, this card cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. This card gains 200 ATK and DEF for each banished WATER monster. Fixed: Hungry Piranhas Destroy this card immediately if "Umi" is not face-up on the field. This card gains 400 ATK for each WATER monster in your graveyard. Deep Sea Mermaid: This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard. While you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When you control a face-up "Deep Sea" monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Deep Sea Diver: This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard. You can Tribute 1 face-up "Deep Sea" monster you control to add 1 "Deep Sea" card from your Deck to your hand. Deep Sea Aqua Girl: This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard. When this card destroys an opponent's monster, after damage calculation you can Tribute 1 monster card you control to Special Summon 1 "Deep Sea" monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position. Feeding Frenzy: Send 1 card, except "Hungry Piranhas" from your hand to your Graveyard and Special Summon 1 "Hungry Piranhas" from your Deck or Graveyard. Fixed: Poseidon's Trident Equip only to a WATER attribute monster you control. The equipped monster gains 1,000 ATK. When the equipped monster battles a Defense Position monster, you can inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent's lifepoints if it was non-WATER. Deep Sea Tide Shift: Tribute 1 face-up "Deep Sea" monster you control and target two cards your opponent controls, then shuffle them into his or her Deck. If "Umi" is face-up in the field, this card's activation cannot be negated. Deep Sea Disturbance: This card can only be activated when you control 3 or more WATER monsters (with different names) on your side of the field. Tribute one face-up WATER monster you control and choose one of the following effects: *Send all cards your opponent controls to the graveyard. *Send your opponent's hand to the Graveyard, your opponent draws 2 cards.
Manpole
Poseidons Trident is okay, but I dont quite understand the gambling effect, maybe make it something more certain that deals with water/aqua/sea-serpent monsters. As for the ocg I noticed a few things that were a little off and I tried correcting them: "Equip only to a WATER attribute monster. The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK. Once per turn, you can discard one card to roll a die. If the result is even, destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls; if the result is odd, destroy this card immediately." I believe that is correct* (dont quote me on that!) I like the picture for Poseidon however I feel he is a little weak due to the fact that he requires water tributes and he cannot be special summoned. Maybe up that 100ATK/DEF gain to 200? Also it would be neat to tie his effect in with his trident (or vise versa). On Poseidon I didn't really notice anything to fix other than Graveyard needs capitalized as shown ^^. Because the Piranha needs UMI to exist on the field I think he should gain a base ATK boost and keep the 400 per Water in your grave or at least give him some good def (2400?) incase your Graveyard isnt full enough to make him playable in attack position. So, maybe edit his base stats from 0/0 to 1000/2400? All in all these are just my suggestions and the cards even without being updated aren't to bad, but I don't see them buffing up any Water decks though either. I was thinking about "feeding frenzy" (quickspell) that when you activate, you can discard 1 card to special summon 1 hungry piranha from your deck or graveyard, and maybe it is a good idea too add some base defence (like 2000) and get rid of the UMI requirement. For Poseidon King I believe if he had more attack and his eff active he would be too overpowered. But maybe he should be ONLY special summoned by banishing two water monsters from your grave or hand. I was also thinking about the trident as being able to tribute one water type monster you control to destroy 1 card your opponent controls.
I'm not sure about getting rid of the UMI req. cause I like cards that go together, in this case the waters that deal with UMI. Maybe if you dont want to say he is destroyed if UMI is not on the field, give him an additional effect if UMI is on the field? Like, it can attack twice or something. As for Poseidon King you have to think about even at the end of the duel, where even then you may only have 7 monsters in your Graveyard and that would make Poseidon King only have 3100 ATK. If you edited so that he can ONLY be special summoned by removing from water monsters, I think he would need to require more than 2 waters, as he is pretty tough to be special summoned so easily, and also that would just weaken him once he hits the field. However, there are some recent water monsters that deal with banishing, so maybe he can be special summoned by banishing 2 waters from your Grave, then you can change his ATK bonus effect to 100+ for waters that are banished, instead of in the Graveyard?
Yeah maybe Poseidon King should only get atk buff from banished. i'd say 200 each is probably fair enough. once you SS him by removing 2 monsters from play, he'll be 2800, 3000 with A Legendary Ocean. Add with Trident and he'll be 4000. I was actually thinking to lower trident from 1,000 to around 700 attack, but make it so that you can tribute 1 face-up water monster to destroy 1 card your opponent controls. I'll leave UMI req. for piranha and give him a base of 1200ATK/2000DEF. If you have around 2 waters in your grave he will be an easy summon with A Legendary Ocean. usually piranha should have 2600/2000 if you have 2 monsters and A Legendary Ocean on the field and you'll be able to normal summon him. Add Feeding Frenzy so you can discard a water monster and SS another piranha from the deck, since you already got a piranha on the field, now you should have two piranhas with 3000ATK (if two water monsters in grave), 6000 damage potential. I feel this is why the UMI req needs to stay on it.
Manpole
I don't think Trident should go down because there are other equip spells that offer 1000+ ATK bonuses (mage power, united we stand, axe of despair) and they can be equipped to any monster, while Trident is specific to waters. Although I like the idea of editing Tridents gambling effect to something more sure that deals with Water monsters. Anyways, I'm liking how they are turning out a little more than how they started out, keep up the good work with your later cards =)

What kind of effect do you think it should have, since it is only for water monsters? I'd say just add piercing damage to anything NON-water.
