I don't know what I'm more mad about, the fact that this guy killed his 5-month-old, or that the main response to this is, "This is why Religion should be banned." It's quite obvious that his defense was merely panic-logic, and that the Judge was an idiot. He killed his child out of rage, and then used a (completely out of context) Bible verse as some half-assed excuse. How people can go around rubbing "logic" all over the place whilst being so mentally retarded is beyond me. It's as bad as blaming Doom for Columbine. Discuss. The main discussion I saw was either saying that they're all morons for accepting the lowered sentence and racist rhetoric. The fact is, this guy obviously doesn't believe in what he did as being according to the Bible, he used a verse as an excuse that his lawyer probably cooked up. More evidence to show this was his act of smiling at the camera after recieving his reduced sentence. [/i] (Exodus 21:15 NAB) [i]If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness.[/i] (Proverbs 20:20 NAB) [i]All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense.[/i] (Leviticus 20:9 NLT) They shouldn't really relate to a 5 month old. It's still no excuse though. It's really irritating and morally wrong that people can get away with crimes due to their religions. You never see someone going 'I should be excused because I'm an atheist'.
