When this card is Normal Summoned: You can discard 1 WATER monster and if you do; this card gains 300 ATK. You can banish this card in your Graveyard and 1 WATER monster you control; add 2 Level 4 or lower WATER monsters from your Deck to your hand. You cannot Special Summon a monster(s) during the turn this card is banished.
Just something I came up with after seeing all the Atlantean stuff at YCS Providence today. It's pretty much designed to support that archetype while being balanced at the same time. It can be plus-worthy, but at the same time, it definitely has some drawbacks that keep it fair, in my opinion.

It's been forever since you've posted in RC, and I love mermails! I also love this card: it is a great Deep Dea Diva target, which (pure) mermails lack, and it can also super-search cards like abysslinde, abyssspike, abyssturge, etc., just for being a Deep Sea Diva target. This can lead to awesome abyssmegalo and abysshilde combos, both of which can greatly benefit your future plays and card presence. While mermails are pretty good at coming back from field wipes like Dark Hole and torrential, this card would take that ability to a different level, making the deck more flexible. Its balancing clause seems fair, otherwise the card would be incredibly easily abused by abyssmegalo or abysshilde. Me gusta, 8.5/10

I like the idea of the card. Supports the archetype well, has a balanced effect, and you found excellent artwork.

One thing I would change would be the Level and/or Type. In Mermails, the pattern (or even their rule) is that Level 3 monsters are Aqua, Level 4 monsters are Fish, and Level 7 monsters are Sea Serpent. For the kind of effect it has (discarder) I would make it a Level 4 Fish to keep with the theme.

As for the last line, is it whenever it is banished? That could be a major drawback against cards like D.D. Crow, which could be used to shut you down for a turn. Perhaps if you made it "the turn you activate this effect" it wouldn't be so steep.
