[Single] Ascended Synchro

There are several decks that run synchros and Xyz monsters in equal measure but there is little to know correlation between them. This is my idea for a solution to the problem that isn't too OP (IMO). Please give rates and con/crit.

Effect: Pay 1500 life points: Special summon one rank 4 or lower Xyz monster from your deck and attach a Synchro monster from your graveyard as Xyz material.

This would not work and a waste of of your Life Points.

You have to "properly xyz summon" to use it's detaching effect.

1500lp just so you can tribute summmon something.

I hope you reword the effect according!

No he doesn't... and detaching Xyz Materials is not "an effect", just having Xyz Materials is a condition and mechanic of the Xyz themselves.


He actually did everything this sort of card needed (correction of actual grammar and proper terms notwithstanding), any addition of words like "Ignoring Summoning Conditions" would make the card too much.

The card itself should say "Pay 1500 Life Points; Special Summon 1 Rank 4 or lower Xyz Monster from your [u][b]Extra[/b][/u] Deck and attach 1 Synchro Monster in your Graveyard to the Summoned monster as Xyz Material."

Maybe you can add "treated as an Xyz Summon" but that would make it "proper" Summon and allow you to resurrect a monster you "cheated" to get, thus making your card more powerful and thus closer to be "cheap." (See also: [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Instant_Fusion"]Instant Fusion[/url])


I would personally make it target the Synchro Monster at activation instead of at resolution to function as a secondary condition (if the target is removed during activation, I.E: during the chain, your card fizzles and you don't get the Special Summon at all, so that would be another nerf). The way you have it now, you will always get your Xyz monster whether you have a Synchro or not, but change it to targeting at activation and you HAVE to have used or dumped a Synchro Monster in order to even use this card.


So maybe something more like this (with an additional weakness I thought of):
[color=#0000ff][i]"Pay 1500 Life Points and target 1 Synchro Monster in a Graveyard; Select and Special Summon 1 Rank 4 or lower Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck and attach the target to it as Xyz Material. If the target as Xyz Material is not attached to the Summoned Xyz Monster during your End Phases OR the Summoned Xyz Monster leaves the field, you lose 1000 Life Points, then destroy the Summoned Monster (if applicable)."[/i][/color]

I specifically said "lose Life Points" at the end instead of damage, because that makes it unavoidable.

I also changed it so you could attach an opponent's dead Synchro, that's not a big deal if you choose change that part back to only being "your Graveyard."



I dislike the idea of a Synchro Monster being used by an Xyz like fuel but whatever, not my card. I guess I changed the card to make the Xyz also be beholden to the attached Synchro instead of it just being a one-way street of indentured servitude for the Synchro.
