Ophion is the only reason that pure Verz is "good". Besides maybe Bahamut. But one time I had this and Laggia on the field... It was insane.

You haven't lived until you've summoned this, Laggia, Dolkka, and used Bahamut's effect to steal your opponent's Shi En.

Oh yeah because all the other verz aren't any good right? *sarcasm*

It may be a good card but hell if we go by that logic lets shove in that for most card archetypes when they have good cards. Just because one card is good doesn't mean the archetype would be lost without it, and even if it would that's sort of a stupid logic that we could say about any deck really.

Ophion is the standard Verz boss monster. It has high ATK, is easily summoned, has a devastating effect, and searches its own protection.
None of the other Verz bosses come even close to that. They actually would be, moreso than not, lost without Ophion.

@Raiko
The Verz are great stand-alones, but what happens when you toss em together into a deck is that you make first-turn ophion and exhaust your hand, then in 1-2 turns your opponent gets over ophion somehow and you're left hoping and praying that you topdeck cercyon while your opponent punches you in the face with their big boss monster. Rabbit Verz is great. Pure Verz sucks.

We can pretty much use that logic for anything, except for you don't describe what exactly exhausts your hand, and how to get over ophion? Also after the one or two turns to try and get over ophion you would have also drawn 2 more cards. Not only that you have plenty of cards that can take out a monster, from just simple destruction, to bouncing to hand, to even returning to deck.

You're trying to make points, but the points are extremely situational, illogical, and once again can be applied to any deck.

If you're playing pure Verz, your hand is getting exhausted trying to bring out Ophion because you're either using Castor, or trying to special something from somewhere.

I hope you're joking about the "how do they get over Ophion" part.

You know what else can be applied to any deck? "By the time they can get rid of my monster, I will have drawn something that will conveniently stop them from doing it."

@Raiko
I don't think you know how pure Verz run. I do, because I've used em for 2 months now, and they consistentky lose whenever their precious ophion dies, guaranteed. O'Lantern is a -0 that leaves you wide open for attacks next turn, and if you're in a bad spot, you can be assured that they will come. Azathoth is a purely defensive card, and if you have to use it, you're in a bad spot 90% of the time, in which case you're already screwed because Verz NEVER make +s except for Cercyon, so you can't get out your precious bahamut or ophion again.

You're operating under the logic that
A. The Verz can make explosive 2 card combos. They just Xyz and bait out torrentials, that's it.
B. Pot of Greed is at 3, and I can draw a crapload of game-changing cards in a short amount of time.
C. Your opponent is going to sit back and relax with Hyperion, triple Junon, and Grapha in hand while ophion beats em senseless. I didn't know we were in First Gen Yugioh, please tell me more.
