Synchronized
Not sure if this is in the right section, but I'm pretty sure it's within the rules, so let's go with it. Anyway, I've been wanting to build Dino Rabbit for over a year, and I finally got around to doing so in October. Still, the Deck under-performed against almost all others, and I found myself losing to Agents/Mermails/etc. quite often. With the conclusion of YCS Barcelona, I gave some serious consideration to trying the Macro version of the build, which I had been against before because for some reason I don't really like Macro Cosmos and I feel like it definitely has its negatives. I didn't look at like the winner's list or anything like that, but using some of what I gathered, I decided to try and modify my build to make it more practical. And wow did that work. After weeks of going like 2-2 or worse at locals, I completely swept through everyone last night, going undefeated and winning plenty of Astral Packs. --- Round 1: vs. Lancer Frogs Awesome kid, but I felt bad from the beginning because this is one of the worst match-ups you can have against Frogs. I open Macro Game 1, play it, he pretty much tries to get around it but there wasn't much he could do at all. I make Dolkka/Leviair/Laggia and pretty much just rely on back-row Game 2 was one of the more competitive games I've played in a while. He got Lancer out with some Poison Draw Frogs, proceeded to + off Ronintoadin plays and stuff, and held me down for a while. I battled back and brought out Spirit Reaper, which helped me to turn it around. I had Reaper and a Lance, he Summons TGU, grabs Sangan, attacks into Reaper and I Lance him. Loses a card and I drew into Rabbit. 1-0 Round 2: vs. Gladiator Beasts I wasn't really sure what he was playing at first, but it was a Gladiator Beast Deck with Rabbit included, which definitely proved to be challenging. I open Macro, he Summons Prisma, we had some confusion as to whether or not he could use Prisma's effect with Macro out. Anyway, I ended up drawing into Rabbit and Tour Guide and made some good plays to take Game 1. He took Game 2 as I opened with 3 Normals, he made Heraklinos, and there wasn't much I could do to get around it. Game 3 was pretty competitive too, but I opened Laggia, Bottomless Trap Hole, Starlight Road, and Lance, and he pretty much had no outs. 2-0 Round 3: vs. Inzektors I had no idea what the kid was playing, even though he had tried to trade for Super Centipede earlier in the night, but oh well. I opened Macro and beat him down so quickly that I didn't get to see what his Deck was at all because he scooped once I brought out Laggia and stopped his Thunder King. Game 2 he actually got some Inzektors, but stood no chance. He didn't even make a significant play and I just pushed through for game with Guaiba and Macro. 3-0 Round 4: vs. Geargia Played against a good friend of mine, considered giving him the win so he could top too but I wanted to stay undefeated because the payout was bigger. I took Game 1 thanks to some extremely solid work put in by Laggia and Doomcaliber Knight, which is just a fantastic card. He sides, so I side too. Throw in some Nobleman of Crossout. He takes Game 2 with Fairy King Albverdich and Machina Fortress that I just couldn't get over. Game 3 I open 2 Nobleman, stop his 2 Armor, and pretty much push for game with Laggia. 4-0 --- Payout to Top 8, I got 4 Astral Packs; pulled Flamvell Firedog, Genex Undine, Gates of Dark World, and Hidden Armory. Earlier in the night I had pulled a Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit, too. Traded the Firedog for a Gold Doomcaliber Knight and sold the Undine/Gates for $10. Plus I made like $65 bucks selling some other stuff including my autographed playmat so all in all it wasn't a bad night. Doomcaliber Knight is proving to be an extremely versatile card and I'm really liking the decision to Main one. I'd recommend trying it for anyone interested in the build. Sora1499
Doomcal is a pretty sweet card. Have you tested your deck against Mermanteans yet?
.Leo
Cool locals report! I enjoy reading tournament reports a lot, I like to see what works for people and what doesn't and how certain match-ups go. Good job on getting Top 8! Macro Rabbit looks interesting, it will probably cause me mayhem in the near future. Nice pulls as well. Overall looks like you had a good night at the event.
