During this turn, if your opponent activates the effect of an Effect Monster that would destroy 1 or more card(s) on the field: You can send the targeted monster to the Graveyard; negate the activation and effect and destroy that card.
--- Continuing the series that I began yesterday, here's Day #2 of Tech of the Day. The purpose of this series is to design a group of cards that, ideally, could function in any Deck despite not necessarily going with that theme. Not so much a staple, though this particular card might lean more towards that, but as something that opens up more choices. Since I made a monster yesterday, I figured it would only be appropriate to try and come up with a Spell Card today, and more than likely, a Trap Card tomorrow. Anyway, this card, Stardust Veil, is a Stardust Dragon-inspired card (shocking, right?) designed to work in a similar fashion to "Forbidden Lance". Being a Quick Play Spell Card, you can use it during either player's turn, just like Lance. What this does, however, is requires you to target a face-up monster, then send a "Stardust Dragon" from either player's Extra Deck to the Graveyard. What's interesting about that? Well, it's almost a balancing factor. If Macro Cosmos/Dimensional Fissure are out, you won't be able to use it. Also, if you've already used "Starlight Road", or actually Summoned your Stardust Dragon, it might end up becoming a bad draw late game. These negatives are made up for by a few things, though. First of all, the ability to send a "Stardust Dragon" from either player's Extra Deck means you can technically disable your opponent's "Starlight Road", or disrupt some of their strategies. Second of all, it doesn't specify which side of the field the monster that you target must be on. What that means is, you can make it so your opponent's monster is unaffected by Spells/Traps, but during that same turn, if your opponent tries to use an Effect Monster's effect, you can send their targeted monster to the Graveyard to negate that effect. It's a Swiss army knife style of card, which I think is one of the best kind if it's not too broken. It has some pluses over Lance, but some negatives too in that Lance also features an ATK/DEF boost. So yeah, this is the card. Feedback may earn you +rep. DarkFenrir119
This card is a very interesting concept. Using Stardust as the basis for the "Lance" effect does balance out if and when you can use it, which is good. Being able to target an opponent's monster and send their Stardust is a crippling effect for them. However, not only can you get rid of their Stardust and prevent them from doing something that might power up or protect a monster, but if they use an effect that destroys, you just got rid of at least 2 of their monsters, one being from their extra deck, with one card. That's pretty powerful. I would honestly suggest having the limit of only sending your own Stardust. That way, both you and your opponent get crippled when you would prevent them from buffing a monster and then destroying yours with another's effect. It also makes the card more likely a dead draw if you don't have Stardust, because drawing into this and then crippling your opponent by 2 or 3 cards, one being from extra deck, with no consequence is... scary, to say the least.
