except no one uses book of moon anymore either, so whats the point of a book of moon that not only eats up a summon but is probably gonna get popped before it can return and usually doesnt have any good targets to begin with?

book of moon is also a quick-play so it at least has the option of stopping an attack or a nasty effect which this doesnt.

also the problem with BLS is a problem with BLS and the fact that BLS is a stupidly powerful card isnt a reason to get rid of this, a card that now has no real use in the game.

Perhaps, however it is a card with basically no cons, so whether it's usable or not it shouldn't be unbanned for just the reason that it's "old-fashioned" so to say, if we say that a card can be unbanned just because it isn't massively used, then why not unban Crush Card Virus, a card that was retarded in its power back in the day, simply because it wouldn't affect most of the meta (except of course chaos dragons)? The problem with the statement that no longer usable cards in the meta should be unbanned is that that way half of the forbidden cards should be unbanned.

except the point is not only does it not have a good use any longer but also theres no one who will run tsukuyomi because its worthless. crush card is still a very powerful card. this card has plenty of cons to it which ive already outlined. comparing this card to any on the banned list is stupid, because a lot of those cards would have an immediate impact if they came back. as has been previously said, even after it came back no one's even seen someone run tsukuyomi, because theres no point in running it. it does nothing of value anymore. you can..............flip down someone's monster???? and they can flip it back up no problem? recycle snowman eater in a really slow and bad way? name a combo for me involving tsukuyomi that is devastating and difficult to counter.

It's a Book of Moon in Monster instead of Spell form, goes back to hand so is reusable after each turn, and even if somehow destroyed, it provides extra help for BLS/Chaos Sorcerer/DAD. The only part of the card that I saw somewhat balanced is that it wastes you a Normal Summon, but that's still 3 Pros VS One Con.

The difference is though that Book of Moon is chainable and can be activated during your opponent's turn. Tsukyomi can't. Also You can't compare Crush Card to Tsukyomi at all...

yeah i dont really know what thats about. and unlike a lot of unbannings lately, tsukuyomi came back because well....theres no reason for it to stay banned? its effect on its own is pretty weak and due to the fact that its a spirit monster, its even more limited. maestroke can do most of the same things but its stronger, can be special summoned, has built-in protection and is way more splashable in decks than tsukuyomi ever was.

arguing for tsukuyomi to be rebanned is akin to arguing that treeborn should have been banned because it worked well with fishborg, instead of realizing that fishborg was the key component to that particular nightmare.

Won't be banned because of Ür status.
This thing was a plot device in the very first fictional duel, and has shown up in nearly every series except 5d's, which is ironic considering the dense amount of other revival cards created in the period and the fact that a Speed Spell version was created, but not for 5d's, but for Stardust Accelerator, and subsequently Over the Nexus.

Okay, maybe comparing it to CCV was a rather bad idea, but understand that like Book of Moon, it can destroy certain combos. In the worst case, you might use it to flip a Stardust or something else in order to take away the opponent's protection card. However, I really don't have much evidence about my point, since many cards in the game are broken right now, so I am going to step down from trying to prove that it should be banned. On a final note, my only point why it should be banned is maybe for the reason that it was banned in the first place? I mean I know that the game has utterly changed but from what I remember there was some kind of powerful combo with it, or am I mistaking this with another spirit monster? Nevertheless, the card is still somewhat powerful even without special combos.

The cards that made the gamebreaking combo are already gone so that's why it can safely be @1. Hell it can even be @3 in all honesty. The game is too fast for it to still have a real impact. Plus, it loses to Veiler, Chain, Herald of Orange Light etc. Reborn will forever be @1 just cause of its history in the game. The same reason Exodia will never go. Plus this is a real selling point for Konami.

@claire
Book of moon? Better than reborn? No. Reborn is at 1 for the same reason Gorz is at 1: it can completely change the game for no cost or reason whatsoever. Book is at 1 because of gravekeepers.
no thats my point. reborn is way better than book of moon. we are agreeing completely here.

It just came back to 1, give it another format.
Konami are against putting cards by 2 or more places up the list, no card was shifted 2 places or more up this format and Spore and Tsuko ate at 1 where they could easily be at 3.

It's a Book of Moon
Book of Moon stops attacks, hits Ignition effects, Cancels some targetting effects, blocks Bottomless and Wanghu, doesn't waste your Normal Summon and does everything Tsukiyomi does.
The fact that Tsukiyomi is a Monster with a Trigger Effect is why it's not comparable.
