sullyvanj93
I've always thought that harpies were a fun deck. Never really the best, but just... fun! well i figure they could deal with some heavy hitters nowdays, so I made 12 new cards. Note that some are limited, but all and all, I think they are fairly balanced. (A lot of the powers are comparable to other monsters that are legal, so I'd say balanced enough.) Blessed Harpie- Semi-limited. If you're having trouble with banished cards, this is a solution. If not, its a nice reviver anyway. Dark Harpie Unlimited. A nice wall. I'd use it for my Normal/Exodia deck for sure! Harpie Eagle Unlimited. Very similar to a card I love using in my Sea Serpant deck. A nice addition to get some power on your side of the field. Harpie Alpha Female Limited. Decent stats and a very nice defense. Your opponent has to work pretty hard to get rid of her, and as such, she is probably one of the most useful monsters in the deck, despite the low attack (as far as key monsters go). Harpie Alpha Male- Unlimited. A tuner monster that helps destroy those pesky effect monsters. Has a pretty good ATK for a level 6 Sync too. Harpie's Phoenix Semi-Limited. An interesting concept. Unlike many of its direct hitting counterparts, it's DEF increases with every hit, rather than its attack. Luckily, it's effect uses this to its advantage, keeping it safe from certain "attack position" card effects. And it has a pretty great spell card to boost it... Phoenix Unleased Limited. A direct hit of 3100 and a Defensive Position switch, all at the cost of wiping out your entire side of the field, save Phoenix. Its a heavy toll, but if your Phoenix can survive a turn and allow you to bounce back, very worth it. Harpie's Scout Limited. A nice little tuner that can bring out most of the harpie's in one's deck to help with the synchro cost. Might make Alpha Male TOO easy to get out, so for now, he's limited in my book. Strength in Numbers Unlimited. A basic defensive trap that makes your opponent think twice about targeting your weaker harpies. Must have a high attack harpie in your hand for it to work though. Talon Defense Semi Limited. Trap cards that wish to harm your winged beasts have another hoop to jump through. Simple continuous trap that can stall opponents stratagy. Undead Harpie limited. Very low attack for a level six, but it's easy to see why. Easily negates 1 spell or trap a turn AND gets an attack boost out of it. It'd go great in any deck. Vengeful Harpie Limited. It's a winged beast DAD, but it lowers it's attack every time it uses its effect. Relying on the GY for most of it's offense, you have to weigh the benifits and risks slightly more than DAD. That being said, it is the offensive powerhouse of the deck. Now these 12 cards would fit nicely with the Harpie decks of old. Note how these cards are NOT treated as official "Harpie Lady"s, even on the field or GY. This adds a more difficult stratagy to using Harpie support cards, having to use your entire deck more wisely as only some of the monsters will help certain effects. Furthermore, while I claim originality for these cards, the artwork is NOT mine. All credit goes to the original artists. Any feedback? tweaks? These are my first creations and I'd love to get some thoughts. Thank you!
Darkneptune
Ive always found harpies to be pretty strong, at least the way my friend used them. adding this would give the deck a Super Boost. If these cards were made I wouldnt stand a chance against harpies. some of them are a bit much, but overall theyre pretty good ideas.
