The card that everyone hates on this forum.

Discuss.

With good reason.

The problem is, Flamvells and Lavals can't really do much without it.

Boo hoo, they deserve to suffer in YGO hell for inspiring this to begin with.

Well look, though the card is obviously overpowered, so are Rescue Rabbit and Tour Guide and many others. The only reason why this one hasn't been hit by the Ban List is because it hasn't done as significant on Tournaments as the decks related to Rabbit and Tour. So, until they actually see how overpowered it is, all decks using it can easily be countered with many cards such as Dimensional Fissure, Macro Cosmos, and many others.

Rewindling
Spell - Normal
Special Summon from your Graveyard as many FIRE monsters as possible with 200 DEF. Their effects are negated. You cannot declare an attack, Xyz Summon, Synchro Summon, or tribute monsters during the turn you activate this effect. During the End Phase, you lose the Duel.

Much better IMO

its powerful on a different level than tour guide or rabbit. this card is just stupid.

the only list attention i expect to see konami give this card is to rename it rewindling

I know it is utterly more powerful, after all, I have tried playing Lavals, as I suppose many here have just to see why it's so popular and overpowered, I'm just trying to say that everything has a fix. That's why there are side decks, so you can counter anything Laval related, once again, too overpowered I must admit, but Konami won't dare touch it unless it wins some sort of championship, which has not yet happened mostly because people don't know how to play with the monster equivalent of the spell that sends two lavals to the grave. So, until Lavals reach the point of Dino Rabbit before it got hit by the ban list, with every move being served on a plate so that a wealthy, spoiled kid can win easily, then they won't get hit any time soon.

Perhaps this?

Brings balance and cancels out an OTK possibility, but still rather overpowered, you can still Xyz or Synchro Summon, therefore you can just bring out a Red Nova Dragon / Shooting Quasar Dragon with just 1-2 cards. And, quite frankly, even though you can't attack, bringing a Quasar with a maximum of two cards will definitely get you an enormous advantage, considering how even if the opponent kills it brings you Quasar's little brother so you're still in at least a +1.

Your fault for not carrying Droll & Lock bird in Traditional.

I will say it again. Dragons Collide, Galactic Overlord, and Gustaph Max all came out around the same time. There was finally an excuse ban Future Fusion and limit REDMD.

Roar of the Sea Emperor and Abyss Rising came out around the same time. There was finally an excuse to off Brionac.

Assault of the Flaming King and Cosmo Blazar aren't too far apart, nor is Yaksha's release in JUMP or the TCG release of Hidden Arsenal 7 (presumably). All of these things feature FIRE monsters with 200 DEF.

That being said, no matter how much you whine about it, nothing will be done about Rekindling until September 2013 at the earliest, and even if they do do something to it, it's not going to be banned any time soon.
