I'm a huge fan of Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, so I decided to make a YGO card set just for this series. They're meant to be stand-alone, ie. they can't mix with normal YGO cards. Hence, some staple cards (eg. Dark Hole, Monster Reborn) have their effects shamelessly copied over. This set plays around with counters, similar to the Spell Counters in YGO. Plus, there are cards similar to the Zombie-Type cards in YGO (merely the mechanics).

Now, the Attributes. I know, some of them seem a bit off, but I wanted each character to be of a different attribute, and while some seemed suitable, the rest were designated that attribute due to "no choice". I'll also list their notable features in their monster cards.
Wind - Shadowcat: Untouchable, yet able to go through the defenses and strike directly.

Water - Emma Frost: Able to control the opponent.

Fire - Cyclops: As team leader, he has to support his teammates and yet be strong and offensive at the same time.

Earth - Colossus: High on defense and attack, he's the team's biggest sword and shield.

Dark - Wolverine: Killing everything in sight, with "healing" factor in his effects.

Light - Beast (honestly didn't have no choice for him): As a scientist, he's able to weave around the opponent's traps and spells.

Sure, some effects may sound a tad too OP, or the ATK or DEF between characters may seem off to you, but this is purely for fun, with as much balance as possible. Of course, certain cards will be limited/semi-limited, similar to the real game.

An interesting interpretation.

When I made a card for Kitty (Cuteness Counterattack Set) I made her a Water-Type because she seems to be able to flow through things and disrupt electric circuits. I also note you can do a play on words and change "Pride of the X-Men" to "Pryde of the X-Men." Isn't Lockheed an alien dragon or something? Also, I think it would make more sense to make Kitty able to attack directly without Lockheed attached, since she can already go intangible on her own. I hope you make a way for Kitty and Piotr to be on the field at the same time, given their involvement.

I've said before on another thread that Cyke's power isn't really related to Fire, but kinetic in nature. We don't have such choices in YGO, so maybe Light is better-fitting. I think you can raise the boost a bit (500 is more normal), and increase the maximum limit on his Counters (3 or 5, maybe?).

Wasn't Emma known as "White Queen" when she was with the Hellfire Club, and not "Ice Queen?" I think her diamond form takes her closer to an Earth-Type, while her Psychic abilities could make her a Light-Type. Her personality, however, is more Dark-Type. Maybe there's a way to have her be treated as all 3.

I believe Armour's power's strength varies based on the number of dead ancestors she has, or something like that, so an effect that relates to the Graveyard works well for her. But don't you think it should be a stat boost instead of a Special Summon?

A good start.

1) I put Shadowcat as Wind attribute instead of water because I preferred Emma Frost to be water when it came down to "each character gets 1 attribute". I went to read the play style of different attributes in YGO, and felt that water was good for Emma Frost for her field-controlling ability (to reflect her being able to manipulate others).
2)Which kinds of link me to why Cyclops is fire. I considered Light at first, but I wanted him to be of an attribute somewhat a opposite of Emma's attribute, which is Water. I do know that his power is kinetic, and not some "fire beams". I looked at the perspective that his optic blasts are rather destructive, hence i made his effects "destructive" and painful to the opponent, which Fire attribute seemed to fit the description.

3)As for Shadowcat's name, I'm very well aware of the phrase "Pryde of the X-Men", but I prefer to use the actual spelling. I wasn't planning to make a "i see what you did there with her name" kind of card title, hence I choose to ignore it. I didn't want my level 4 Shadowcat to have direct attacking ability as she already has somewhat a "lockdown" ability, hence I gave it to lockheed. I didn't want my level 4 character to be OP. My level 7 Shadowcat, however, has the direct attack ability.

4) White Queen. Yes, I'm very familiar with Emma Frost being known as White Queen in the comics, back when she was in the Hellfire Club. I intentionally called her "Ice Queen" to portray her coldness at times. Plus, I do not use the character's physical features or personality, but more of how her powers work, to decide majority of my attribute-assigning (refer to point 1)

5) I am still considering a proper card (of higher level) for Armor, but I currently made that as a staple for the deck, to make the deck more complete. I've enough high level chracters as of now.

Phew! Hope I answered all the questions! XD
